I will add:

Determine specifically what you want to accomplish or where you are seeking improvement

Get a shot timer

Figure out a short list of well established drills that have clearly defined "tiers" or goals and make it a point to run those drills at every range session (for me my staples are: 3 Cold FASTs, then timed and slowfire 10 shot groups at 25 yards at a B8 repair center and Bill Drills - I'm very aware of how I should perform on any of these 3 and combining them all gives me a pretty complete skillset exercise) - Strongly considering working a draw-from-concealment ersion of "The Test" in to this order.

Keep records or a journal of some kind (I'm very disorganized so my vids aren't 100% narcissism, they are also my journal)

RECORD YOURSELF - without professional instruction it's very, very hard to determine what's going wrong since you can observe yourself while shooting

Get a grip strength trainer and also exercise the wrists


Get A-zoom brand snap caps (only ones with decent primer pocket life)

Dryfire off the shot timer nightly if possible, at least 15 minutes, set your par times in dryfire UNDER what you are capable in live fire. (My dryfire routine is very very very simple, I draw from concealment at a 1" or 3"x5" oval and I do slide lock reloads)

Appchan showed me your deleted post so if you are going low left - then you are anticipating the recoil and applying counter force out of sequence with the ignition of the gasses - "Ball & Dummy" drills are amazing for correcting this - but at a certain level of shooting you WANT to apply counterforce (less muzzle rise, faster follow up shots) - so at this level I suggest simply shooting faster and large volume until you "synch up" you application of force with the kick

That's all that comes to mind atm, sorry kinda half asleep myself

I live in the PNW so we have pits but at least 1 hour drive away from me, the indoor range is literally 2 min from my house so that always is more convenient, I'm just going to go ahead and become a member there and use the perks like rapid fire, draw from concealment and sign up for their classes. The nice thing is reaction time, hebbian plasticity for site alignment, reloads and holster work - all can be developed for free at the house with dryfire.

Rapid fire is the expensive, frustrating bitch to learn in the beginning - you just gotta keep doing bill drills (or something akin), focusing on the front site over and over until it's second nature.

I'd say def take advantage and become a member for da perks - plus with fall/winter on the way....ya

No you are probably right about that, I will bring my regular aiwb holster with me on my next range trip (hopefully today) and practice both carry style draws. I just really like mexicarry due to less bulk. I should look into a less bulky aiwb holster than the one I already have by K-Rounds.

Rubber band is just because the holster is an open clamshell design. I'm just paranoid about the pieces being somehow pulled apart, the rubber band limits their outward movement.

With the claw it's a very nice holster. Very compact, barely adds any bulk, and tucks in close to the body.

The knife and house key are seperate so they can be easily removed to give to someone i dont trust my knife with and give my house key to someone but key the car key.
