Help me out /k/.
I want something in 9mm, that is the grip width size of a subcompact pistol (about 1" give or take .1", single stack) but the rest of the dimensions are that of a normal compact pistol.
Something to compare it to would be a Glock 19 or P239, but thinner in the grip. Maybe something like a compact 1911, I don't know.
I found this but it's in .380 so it's kinda homosexual http://www.bluesheepdog.com/2017/01/20/new-browning-black-label-1911-380-compacts/
I might end up just buying a P938 with a magazine that gives me the third finger grip, but I still want something a little bigger than that. Size is everything.
Oh, and SAO or DA/SA is fine. Striker fire I guess is okay too. Nothing DAO.

The Browning 1911 .380 is a real nice shooter.
Real accurate and really soft recoil.
Also it may not be the perfect size but take a look at the Walther CCP.
It's a single stack 9mm striker-fired pistol.
It may not be for you, requires a disassembly tool to field strip.
But the delayed blowback piston system, and fixed Barrel is real nice.
Sig p320 compact or carry size sounds close to what you're describing. It's striker fired.

May I ask why you wish for a thin gun? There are certainly more important criterias that come first in terms of features on a defensive pistol. The Glock 19, P239 and P225 are probably your best bets for a thin and compact gun that still retains a large amount of shootability.
I think the P225-A1 with G10 grips would also be a decent suggestion, it shoots like a full size pistol. From what I hear, the G10 grips are considerably slimmer than the stock grips.
A decent suggestion would be a Shield 9mm with the 8rd magazine if you wish to go smaller.

I found out about Kahr K9, prolly gonna hit that up plus it's cheap
trigger apparently sucks though
1911s hover around the 1.25" mark. If you get thinner custom grips they could even drop below 1".
Dan Wesson's Commander 9mm models are worth a look if you want to go the 1911 route. Colt also has 9mm models.

Here you go.
buy a Vickers Tactical +2 mag extension/longer mag spring
and now you have 9 rounds of 9mm
in a slim .380 sized gun
The Sig P239 is larger, heavier and has the same mag cap
A PPS with a 8 round mag
