Why does the Glock have a dedicated firing pin block. Wouldn't the sear block the firing pin from moving forward anyway if the pistol is dropped?
Cant hear you over my Glock Perfection

It's a serious question? Why did Gaston design it that way? It seems redundant to me.

It is redundant. Lots of things are engineered with redundancies.

To make it retard-proof, but people still manage to fuck it up. The one ND in 5 years at my city's police department happened when a detective accidentally finger-fucked his Glock while checking his phone. He denied any wrongdoing to the bitter end. The department supposedly made a big legal fuss about it with Glock, but the investigation concluded with the detective being ousted as a moron. How you fuck up that bad even with a level III retention holster and a decade of LE experience is beyond me.

It's more baffling that some people are unable to admit to their fuck ups when they make them.
>gun goes off
>"it was the gun's fault, I swear!"
It just goes to show how little intergrity they have. If it were up to me, I would have fired that fucker because he's probably lying about more important shit.

The firing pin block isn't supposed to prevent negligent discharges. It's supposed to prevent the gun from being dropped. The safest gun in the world is still going to discharge when you pull the trigger on a loaded chamber.

How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't even trust his own pants.
