Bought a glock a few months back.
Wanted to upgrade the trigger, change the grips, and get new sights for it.

Instead

Last night I traded it for a Canik TP9sa, 500rnds, and I only need to upgrade the sights.

Damn, glock is a waste of money.

thats the carbon dioxide indication meter, measures the carbon dioxide created by the gun firing.
>>
>>34659833
Part of the disassembly. You drop the mag, clear gun of ammo, then pull trigger, bring the slide back ~1/4", pull that downward, then let the slide forward and it pops right off the frame. One of the reasons people like glocks so much, but some people bitch about having to pull the trigger because they're fucktards.
>>
>>34659833
Slide lock; not to be confused with the slide release.
>>
>>34659833
gas system, you change the settings depending how far you're shooting to compensate
>>
>>34659905
You don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble the Glock; you also have the option of locking the slide to the rear and using a punch to remove the slide cover plate and firing pin assy, at which point the slide can be removed as normal.

Thinking about getting a Glock 26 as a concealed carry piece. Why is stipled side panels so ridiculed online? Is Talon or Hogue slip on grips a better choice for such small piece?

>SAO hammer fired handgun that's drop safe and has a 4.5lbs trigger
Incredibly dangerous, must have a manual safety

>SAO striker fired handgun that is drop safe and has a ~5lbs trigger
Safest design ever, just follow the four rules you mong, people can't remember to flip off a safety under duress

>not even a stock barrel
STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!
>>
>>34668549
>the 1911 has a trigger clit and .49" trigger travel
>the Glock is, in any meaningful sense, SAO
???
>>
>>34659833
No one wants to tell you the truth. That is simply the built in fingernail clipper. All Glocks come with them, not just LEO guns.
>>
>>34668592
>glocks are functionally SAO. The action cycling precocks the striker almost entirely and then the trigger travel finishes it. Weight wise there is very little difference.
>while this may technically be a double action trigger as it cocks and fires the gun on trigger pull the distance traveled and weight are comparable to many stock SAO triggers.
>1911 trigger travel varies as does Glock trigger travel. Suggesting that trigger travel is a meaningful safety feature is also kinda ridiculous.

>in closing both triggers have similar efforts to activate and an action that would activate one trigger is likely to activate another, ergo they are functionally similar in this particular sense
>>
>>34668821
Trigger travel is the most meaningful safety feature.

So after the first three pages of that thread it seems your source explicitly and spiritually disagrees with the point you're making.

1. it specifically calls out glocks as being prone to ND compared to contemporaries.

2. nobody can even find this mysterious study that people claim disappeared because the fbi adopted glocks.

3. other mentioned studies found that many people twitch their index fingers under stress regardless of training, ergo a long light trigger or a manual safety is desirable.

While i'll readily admit that something like the triple action(IIRC) trigger of a LH9 is safer than a safetyless 1911 i don't think that necessarily proves that a glock is as safe as a 1911 or that glocks clearly are so resistant to ND/AD that a manual safety is superfluous.

OTOH if that thread suddenly turns to the opposite direction around page 6 or so then feel free to let me know, I always love to learn something new.

I think it still has at least a decade before it turns into permanent boutique status but it doesn't look good. It's a shame, with the development of it, it looked like we were starting to really standardize our understanding of what a lethal bullet does. It's near-perfect for something made entirely of commonly used components. 9mm bullets, .40 cartridges, and seems to meet the ideal lethality of a 10mm with a much lighter, shorter cartridge

Jesus christ, people on here are trolls.

It's to disassemble the firearm. Look up on youtube Glock Disassembly Guide and you'll see how it's used instead of listening to these morons.
>>
>>34669863
The problem is that you get the same mag capacity as a .40 S&W with none of the bone-busting momentum of the larger round.
Also, the .357 SIG doesn't use 9mm Luger bullets or .40 S&W cases; 9mm Luger hollowpoints don't work properly when pushed to .357 SIG velocities, and the .40 S&W case is too short to neck down into .357 SIG cases.

> YOU CAN'T PUT A HIGHER QUALITY BARREL IN THE GUN OR IT WILL BLOW UP
>>
>tfw you love stock Glocks
>>
>>34669902
In a practical sense, both 10mm and SIG are better. Going by BBTI, .357 Mag has a much higher upper-limit on velocity but also a much slower lower-limit. No one will realistically use an 18" Magnum, but someone could use a 3" 10mm. At the 4"-6" range, they're very similar.
>>34670078
That sucks, that would be a great boon to the cartridge. I don't know about bone-busting but the Texas Rangers say it's a one-shot stop pistol cartridge in most cases. If we're going purely by lore, I'd rather go with a man-stopper over a bone-breaker. It's possible the ft-lbs of a .357SIG on a .355 caliber bullet might be the ticket to hydro-static shock.
