I want a 7.62 AK with a 45 degree gas block, dimples would be nice, uses normal furniture and has a better fit/finish than a WASR. Not super autistic otherwise.

The WBP's are very nice, haven't heard any issues with them metal quality wise, and Atlantic is great to deal with if any problem would arise.

The brand new Radom barrel makes it IMO, the other U.S made parts minus the receiver are easily switched out for quality com bloc parts.

If you're not autistic about it you're best off with a dressed up Stg58 or Imbel on a type I or II receiver, a lot of what you'll be paying for otherwise is the same parts made in a different country that you can't even tell the difference between. All of the visible components for a G1 can be found an attached to any other FAL. Only special part you would need is a lugged barrel rather than a threaded one for the flash hider

Unless you're planning on dropping $10k on 7.62x39 and having it freighted to a dock for you to unpack I wouldn't bother. You'll be better off driving down to auto zone or napa and picking up a bucket of grease to pack your AKs in and deciding on which 5.56 rifle you'll be shooting instead.

Well, the AK-74 will be dead for the foreseeable future unless Hornady decides to invest in a way to make brass casings for it, at which point it will be ludicrously expensive.

The AK-47/AKM will be just fine. The best ammo loads for it will be gone, but unless Congress plans to sanction Hungary, Romania, and a few other countries, it'll be around forever, just at a higher price point.

Every single round of 5.45x39 is Russian made. Even the "US made" stuff like Hornady uses Russian cases. 80% of 7.62x39 is Russian made and only like 5% of that is US made with the rest made in Romania. Unless we get some Ukrainian or Romanian stuff, we'll never get that shit. Here's to hoping that if we do get sanctioned that Bulgaria and Poland start making ammunition for export because if they don't, 7.62x39 will all be 40 cpr or more and 5.45x39 will be just about unobtainium .

Most AKs will have some mag wobble with most mags. It's a common place thing and it will not affect your rifle at all unless the mag is moving a great deal like a half inch or something horrible.

Canted sights, gas block and such are things that plague cheaper AKs and once in a while higher end AKs(yes even arsenals) if they let their QC slip. If you can, inspect it in person before you buy. Keep in mind, a little cant on the front or rear sight isn't a deal breaker, especially if you have to stare at it hard to notice. So long as the rifle can be zero'd then it'll be fine.

Now if the gas block is canted, and is rubbing on the gas piston, that can cause an issue with reliability due to the friction of the piston head against the gas block/gas tube causing drag, thus causing potential feeding issues due to slower travel.

If it's ammo I'm gonna buy a KAC. I'm done with this shit.
