Can anyone recognize this type of grenade? From what I can research, it's of French design and utilized in the Great War.
Also Grenade thread I guess?

It's a depiction from a french grenade manual called "Les Grenade Allemandes de la Grande Guerre"
I thought it had an interesting shape, the handle might possibly be stabilizing tassles.

That's an Aasen type C (modele 1915 in french service) made by danish inventor Zaharof.
Denmark being neutral, that grenade was sold to and used by both sides. As illustrated by >>34653278, since that title means "The german grenades of the great war" in french.
Three versions of that dome :
Offensive : lacquered cardboard
Light Defensive : iron leaf + shrapnel bullets
Heavy defensive : iron plate.
The french version used a modified 8mm lebel cartridge as a percutor.
That cloth contains four springs to ensure that it drops head first. However, strong wind meant that the grenade would fall flat and not detonate.
Safety was provided by a 7m long lanyard attached to the wrist.
Post a better grenade if you can.
>Protip: You can't.
