How many magazines do you guys carry for your battle rifles?

I only have access to 10 round magazines for my .308, I know general rule of thumb is to carry at least 5 but is 5 10 round magazines enough?

I fingerfucked a SCAR at my LGS the other day and the trigger seemed OK to me.
If I were buying a SCAR, I'd definitely prioritize ammo, a LPV, and a flash hider over a better trigger.

The SCAR may be lighter and more accurate mechanically, but I'd argue that the larger weight and highly adjustable gas system make the FAL a better mass issue style weapon and a better gun for some fucktard to start off with.
The ability to chew through cheap plinking ammo with only a marginal decrease in accuracy is nothing to scoff at.
Also, you can unfuck an FAL with a hammer and some sandpaper.
Try that with aluminum forgings/extrusions or whatever the SCAR is.

It's a voyager. Those are pretty much the same price as a PTR. It's a good deal but it's nothing spectacular for a mediocre version of an FAL.

AR in .308 would be the best comparison to a G19. SCAR is great but $2700 or whatever they go for nowadays is pretty spend. You can get a decent AR for a fair bit less than that or go for a great one in the SCAR price range. FAL and PTR/G3 are fine but showing their age. Do what you can to get your hands on and shoot the guns you want to buy before main making a decision.
