How safe to use and effective are these on land?

I got tired and too bruised from the regular "band" style spearguns, so I bought a 55.5cm seac asso pneumatic speargun.

It's great, you can set a desired pressure with a pump (more pressure, faster it will go but harder to load the spear), and you compress the air with a piston when you load the spear. Because you don't loose air with each shot, you get unlimited shots.
I'll be testing it out in the Aegean sea in about two weeks.

With spear guns they have rules like with fire arms, and one of them is to not load it while out of the water.
On the surface, with less resistance than water, the spear will haul ass. You can definitely kill people.
