Lets do a CZ thread.
>>34647512
Hnnnng.
CZ Custom had one of these in shop when I went to get my SP-01. I was tempted and now I regret not getting it. It was basically everything I'll ever want in a 1911.
I'm interested in getting into competitive shooting so I think my next CZ's are (in no particular order):
CZ 97B (Heavy Metal Limited/Optic)
CZ 75 Shadow 2
CZ 712 3 Gun G2
Possibly:
CZ 75 Tactical Sport
CZ Czechmate (Open Pistol Competition and possible 3-Gun Open, wayyy down the list though).
CZ 612 w/Tube Extension (Heavy Metal Limited/Optic)
I also still want to get a RAMI at some point, and might just get the B model since it'll share the same battery of arms as the competitive models. I also still want a Phantom and might consider getting a surplus 75B for a fun gun.
Also those Turkish Side by Side's catch my attention regularly, as well.
>>34647814
>Wanting to get into competitive shooting with CZ's
>Happen to be reading over the members of CZ-USA Shooting team
>Almost half of them are from Arizona
>CZ-Custom is in Arizona
>I live in Arizona
Well, that worked out.
Fucking CZ will make 1911s, but they still haven't made any single stack CZ.
>>34648090
They only made like a hundred or so 1911s
>>34647512
MUH STEELS THEY STOPPED USING DECADES AGO
MUH ANIMOOS
MUH BORE AXIS
Give me one reason why these things are relevant.
>>34647814
cz's are ok guns
Czeching in
>>34647814
Damn shame I don't think there will any more CZ 1911's they only made one batch.
That sounds great. Good luck on your shooting you can't go wrong with any of those.
>>34648435
Hey fuck y--- ohhhhhh.
>>34648435
>>34648513
My problem is that everytime I think, "Well, I don't really wanna stick to any brand" I end up noticing something else in their catalog that gets me all hot and bothered and I return to the watering hole like a crack-addicted cheetah every time.
There are still a few other firearms out there that I'm interested in though. The Ruger Precision Rifle is a good example, as long range shooting is another competition that I'm really interested in trying out.
>>34648602
I got a watering hole that's hankering for some licking. Seize these nuts.
>>34648693
yeah let's do
i might get some hogue grips for this soon.
>>34648435
i agree with you there, buddy.
>>34649100
How does this make you feel?
>>34649100
Or this?
>>34648602
The good thing about this kind of mentality is the awsome gun collection you'll end up with later in life.
>>34649187
>>34649196
Is this a new phenomenon of people bitching about the exposed rails on cz's? I've never heard anyone anywhere aside from RECENTLY on /k/ bitch about it?
>>34649964
2nd this
>>34649964
That was certainly the attraction.
I'm not the type who wants a gun collection just because, I wanted every gun to have a tactical purpose, so to speak. But then thought, "Well that's a lot of money to put in stuff that ultimately sits around." At which point I remembered that competitive shooting is a thing and that 3-gun would not only give me a good reason to purchase different types of guns, but would also help me hone my abilities in their functionality.
Eventually being able to put 8 rounds in a shotgun in under four seconds is an attractive idea.
>>34649991
Yes, apparently it's unaesthetic.
Personally i still think the SP01 is one of the hotter guns out there.
>>34649121
Should have had him sign your sp01, still really really cool
My current gun I'm jonesing for is the P-01. I'm having a tough time finding anybody with it in stock right now. I've seen a couple sites with it online, but I want to be able to see how one feels in my hands before I buy. REEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>34651220
Have you ever held any CZ?
>>34647512
>>34647557
>>34647571
goddamn learn to take a picture dude
>>34647512
>>34647557
Did not know that CZ made basic G.I. A1s. Looks like I have one more thing on my wishlist now.
I did this.
>>34652464
aesthetic as fuck!!!!
>>34651857
They're not gonna make any more.
>>34651857
>Be this anon >>34647814
>In CZ Custom store
>Couldn't find SP-01's anywhere in AZ until I learned CZC was based here.
>Looking at the various Dan Wesson's an a walking-cane sized revolver made for the Britbongs.
>Mention that, if I were gonna get a 1911, I'd want a simple, G.I. style model
>"Yeah no problem, CZ's got you covered." and pulls out the A1
I really, really thought about going back to get it before they discontinued production but ah well. Not really broken up about it.
Why are there only pistols in this thread? CZ makes other things too.
>>34654152
Outside of the handful of long guns they had on display at CZ Custom, I have seen all of one CZ long gun in the wild at a store.
It's rare enough to see a pistol on display too.
I was recently chatting with an owner of another firearm's store and he says that the cost of the firearms are just too great to risk putting them in stock and then sitting on them if they don't end up selling and that's just the handguns.
I just don't think CZ has the cache for long guns. I wouldn't be surprised if some people were shocked to hear they make (Turkish-built) shotguns. And I don't think there are enough fudd's on here to see rifles.
Lastly, the vz 58 seems hard to come by and is usually out-favored for the more common AK patterns.
Gonna go looking for a CZ 82 or 83 today for concealed carry :)
>>34654211
CZ bolt actions are fairly well respected. Although It's more of a European boar hunter kind of crowed.
>>34649100
>mfw
>>34654136
I bought the third one ever sold I believe. The Custom shop only received like 20 as far as I know and after they found out I don't think they left them stock GI. Most of them got tricked out similar to the one I posted, mine has a few subtle differences as it was gift to my dad.
The stock GI 1911s were milled out by Dan Wesson and then sent to CZ-USA to be finished. Then CZC received the majority of them and did custom work on them, sights/trigger/beaver tail ect. . .
>>34648435
Gib Jericho
>>34654443
Good luck Anon!
>>34654824
Yes, but the topic raised was about why we weren't talking about them, which was the context I was working with.
>>34654861
I noticed the trigger when I was looking at it. The one they had at the shop that they showed me was a standard fare model if I'm not mistaken, but they could've set it aside for customization. It wasn't on display in the case after all. You in AZ?
>>34654874
I don't mind discussing Jericho's, Tanfoglio's and other CZ clones.
are Hi Powers and CZs friends, enemies, or friendly rivals?
>>34656096
My mistake, yeah not much gets said about them. Most likely because they're hunting rifles for the most part. They're nice but nothing special or unique.
>>34656096
Yeah the parts on the one I built were separate from the ones we ordered for the other guns.
They were set aside for a while but last I remember they were all getting forward serrations machined into them and shortly after going to get customized. Again everything at the CZ custom shop can be made to order though so you could ask for what ever you want,
Yes I live in Phoenix. Used to work at the custom shop.
>>34656175
Friendly older brother.
>>34654874
This reminds me. Tales of the CZ custom shop.
One time a dude sent in his Jericho and it was engraved "See you later Space Cowboy"
No one in the shop besides me got the reference and they couldn't stop laughing at the gay space cowboy dude.
>>34656250
Yeah I'm in Phoenix too.
I'm really starting to wonder if it's the CZ capital of the US. Angus probably has a lot to do with that.
I think I'm going to get my SP-01 a trigger job after I shoot it a bit more, and eventually a Shadow slide conversion.
>>34649100
it's exactly the length the slide and barrel will travel while being locked together.
>>34656345
Phoenix is the capitol of competition shooting that's for sure. It makes sense that it would attract all the competition gun companies.
>>34647512
I've got a cz75 sp-01
Never actually fired it. Cleaned it after getting the thing, but that's it.
I've come to realize afterwards that it's actually too big for me. I should've bought one of the compact and concealable pistols instead of a full size.
What are the chances I'd be able to trade my unused SP-01 for a P-01?
Should I just buy a P-01 and have both?
p.s. In canuckistan
>>34656418
To big to carry?
Two guns is better than one. I don't know what the possibility of trading in your gun for another, maybe call CZ-USA and see if you can work something out?
I bought a 527M Carbine in 7.62x39 last week, and took it to the range this past weekend. Forgot to take some pictures but I think it may be the best gun purchase I've ever made.
>mfw shooting 2 MOA with iron sights at 100 yards with shitty steel case ammo that cost me like 15 cents per round
>>34649100
Someone explain this to me please
>>34656491
I actually just looked things over, and it turns out you can't even get the CZ75 P-01 in Canada because the barrel is too short (98mm vs the 105mm min. required by law)
Apparently a threaded barrel is long enough to get around this, but it sounds like a huge and expensive hassle short of CZ offering the product this way by default and already in Canada, rather than shipped-in (because you just know, no matter how legal a firearm is, customs is going to dick you around anyways).
>>34656541
Very nice. I bought a Zastava clone in .223 and sometimes I regret it when I see how nice the CZ's are in comparison.
>>34656615
Yeah, I actually looked at a Mini-Mauser first since it was like half the price, but the bolt was rattly in a way I found unpleasant and I didn't like the finish. My only complaint about the 527 is it's a really, really small rifle in general to the point where it's almost too small for an adult male
>>34656664
I found the bolt on mine to be snug but the bolt handle is very small. I operate it with my thumb and two fingers like if I was drinking a tiny cup of tea.
Also the adjustable trigger makes it very nice but is not drop safe if you use it so it is useless for hunting.
>>34656748
Couldn't you just set the trigger right before you take your shot? It doesn't make much of an audible click
>>34656797
No, you have to take it out of the stock and adjust the trigger with a screw driver.
>>34656865
Oh. The CZ is a set trigger that you push forward, but it sets it so light that it's pretty fucking scary. It's about 1lb which is uncomfortable for me desu, it feels like the shot goes as soon as you touch the trigger with no actual "pull" involved
>>34656905
Sounds nice. See what I mean about regretting my Serbian fucking shit.
>>34656935
Sell it my man, bolt-action x39 carbines are always in high demand
>>34656950
Yeah thought about it but I hate selling guns.
I just turned 21 today and I know that the CZ 75B is the gun I want to get.

>>34654211
South florida gets all the czs. Went window shopping for bolt actions and found a cz bolt action, scorpion carbine and pistol, all basic 75 variants, p07/9, p10c, 75shadow1, 75sp01 phantom, all within 3 stores. This was yesterday.
>>34660577
Damn.
Most Ive seen in a general fire arms store is a few 75's, maybe a P-01. One of the store/ranges has a few for rental here in Phoenix. Got a BD model to compare against a ppq m2 and went with CZ.
>>34653729
Doesn't mean some won't pop up for sale at some point.
How much should a new 9mm CZ 75 be worth? Here in commiefornia the local stores have them in the $600-700 range most of the time.
>>34661189
Anywhere else Id say thats slightly on the high side. But given that youre in Calipornia, that sounds right.
>>34661189
Non-california, but I got mine brand new for around 525.
>>34647571
>>34661189
$299 for a surplus gun.
Halp guys
Is it worth getting a good condition pre B 75 or should I go for a new 75B or 85B?
Are spare parts for the 75B compatible with a 75?
I am looking to use it as a range gun for as long as it will last me.
Thanks
>>34651857
Not CZ. Its a Dan Wesson they made under contract.
Ay yo hol up.
>>34647512

>>34656250
What would you say is the cheapest way to get a CZ-75 permanent Kadet? Buy a poor condition surplus 75B for conversion?
>>34672663
First one I got is a 98 with 5 mags, box etc for $600. Got this one for the same price with 250 rounds of Blazer .45ACP and 4 boxes of various defensive rounds.
czech em!

Here's my railed 75 compact. I have some trijicon night sights for it but I've been to lazy to install them.

I like that, would be tempted to do that myself.

He is whining about how it looks bad, but no one cares because it isn't a big deal.
How do the steel EAA tanfoglios compare to regular CZ's? The ones with the conversion .22 slide for $400ish total are tempting.
>>34674043
thats beautiful, anon. I want to get wood grips when I get mine
>>34654136
WTF, where is there a CZ store in AZ!?!?!?!?!?!?!
>>34674768
Why thank you! I hated the rubber grips and I didn't appreciate the gun because of them. I liked the gun on paper and I love CS 75's but the ergonomics were off. Once I put these on everything changed. It feels perfect now, it's my favorite pistol.
>>34674937
did you buy them at a store or did you find a good online place to get them?

>>34648430
They work ok while feeling better in hand for many people than literally any competitor. They also are above average in the accuracy department and have a fairly good aftermarket.
Frankly i think a gun is "relevant" so long as it puts holes in things.
>>34649100
Agreed it's unaesthetic but it's worth dat full length frame rail
>>34649121
Is it just me or is that sig scaled incorrectly? look at the grip compared to her hand.

Yes, although supposedly it's been bothering some of the more perceptive autists for a while.
>>34650918
>agreeing intensifies
>>34651220
Like a cz with less spare room on the bottom part of the grip. Same curves but less length down below. Less weight out in front than a 75 or sp01 but still rather dense feeling.
>>34654152
Tru nuff. Their older .22s and the 527 are particularly neat guns imo.

>>34672663
You should do some research on the kadet slide. I was looking at whether one would work with my tranny pre b and while it should i also read a lot of posts about how some older guns don't work with it because the hammers were too wide or some such.

anyone have any experience with CZ550 in big rounds? im looking at a used one chambered in 375 H&H

I worked on that.
>>34675518
Do you seriously not carry a full size handgun?
CZ 455 I picked up last week.
This is my first handgun, I love it.
I got these grips for 20 bucks on Etsy. For the price I like them. I wanted thinner grips anyway
>>34679546
Awesome man licker stock.
>>34679301
I probably know you then, unless there's a similar tac sport with ground down safeties out there
Every time I eject my carry ammo, 124 +p gold dots, this happens in my p-07. Fired cases and ball rounds eject just fine. Should I be worried about this? Don't have any other hollow points to test currently.

>CZ 97B (Heavy Metal Limited/Optic)
not a bad choice but heavy metal definitely leans to more of the 2011 crowd, mainly because you cant really trick out a 97B

awesome gun, cant wait to get mine, the Cajun kit is fantastic and its USPSA production legal

>CZ Czechmate (Open Pistol Competition and possible 3-Gun Open, wayyy down the list though).
again a great gun for its class, both this and the TS are basically done from the factory and you dont really need to do anything to em

Scratch that, just went back and read that you're in AZ. This was a bone stock tac sport bought on gunbroker, I shoot matches on the regular with the guy that bought it as a backup to his orange. I don't think he ever sent it in to the custom shop but I'm pretty sure he sent his orange in to have it refinished. You very likely did work on my ipsc modified though.
End of October and it's going out to be hard chromed and I'll shoot my open gun for any oddball matches and indoor events. I'm completely unimpressed with cerakote, might as well use crayon to finish your gun.
>>34680278
I've been told by multiple shooters that the czechmates as well as the tanfoglio gold customs don't hold up well to uspsa major loads for 9mm since IPSC major is 160pf and USPSA major is 165pf. Maybe someone who has one can clarify.
Better picture
>>34675574
nice try, schlomo i can buy one new for that many shekels
>>34680278
>not a bad choice but heavy metal definitely leans to more of the 2011 crowd, mainly because you cant really trick out a 97B
I wasn't terribly concerned about being competitive in Heavy Metal. I figured it would just be a better class to start in since you deal with recoil management more as well as reloading and having a pistol that uses the same battery of arms as the 9mm I'd be using is more ideal to me than having a better/more reliable pistol based on a different design.
>discontinued
Not really an issue, I was going to be patient and see if one showed up to buy used. Although the lack of support I see for CZ shotguns might lead me to Mossberg or another brand.
>>34680666
Well being in AZ, I'm sure CZ Custom could solve any issues with the Czechmate that I might run into.
That being said, that gun is so far down the line that, if there are issues, they could end up being resolved by the time I get around to buying it.
