So I am a Wa resident and had a friend who works for an 502 related company. He recently got his own place and was looking to get his first firearm. Would he be able to buy a firearm, or not as the industry is still illegal federally.

If he smokes marijuana than he is technically ineligible on a 4473

He does not. He just works for a place that processes it for sale.

It doesn't matter because jobs aren't part of NICS. He'll pass the check as long as he's otherwise clean.

Wa fag here. I work as a trimmer, also do irrigation system too for 502. They won't care unless he smokes...even if he did smoke, it's not like they drug test.
WA anon here, can confirm that 502 does not affect his ability to buy a firearm as long as he doesn't smoke.
I recommend he really doesn't, cause if he does, and he's involved in a shooting, I bet they'd drug test him. But I may be wrong, someone feel free to correct me.

Sounds like quite a bit of infringing to me

Depends on the context of the shooting. If the police believe he was inebriated they might.

Thanks. Will pass it along.
