Hey /k/, thinking about getting pic related. It's a Remington AR chambered in .223. Can it handle 5.56 rounds?

Nope nope nope.
kill yourself
If only there were a good selection of ARs chambered in 5.56. OP wouldn't have to make this tough decision
Why do companies still make .223 rated guns?

It's likely just fine. Check for signs of excessive pressure such as flattened primers after firing. If you see none, it's good to go.

If by .223 you mean the barrel being .223 WYLDE then sure, it can handle 5.56.
If by .223 you mean the barrel being .223 REMINGTON then it can't handle 5.56.
This has been a serious answer.
I love bait.

>If by .223 you mean the barrel being .223 REMINGTON then it can't handle 5.56.
the majority of .223 rem barrels can handle it just fine meaning no catastrophic failures. the ones that cant are the accuracy oriented presicion barrels where its really tight. the majority of .223 arent made to that high standard
