As the filename suggests, it's a vintage Vostok Amphibia.
Like most Soviet/Russian items, they're durable as hell (rated for 200m water resistance) and cheap to boot (usually about 40-60 bucks on eBay).

Varusteleka is a very well known and reputable milsurp shop. I don't like them much myself however because they don't have a lot of shit and are always out of stock on stuff

What's a good price for a set of (real/non-replica) soviet/russian berezka shirt and pants?

I've seen two different types on sale:
1. 1 piece pants+tunic overall
2. 2 piece seperate pants and tunic
Is one of them fake? Were both "styles" actually made in the ussr/russia?

For the pacific northwest, would you say that pic related is the better berezka, or...

The KLMK is the one-piece. It was designed as a baggy, simple cut oversuit to wear over the standard uniform. It has no pockets besides two hand pass-throughs and one small rear button pocket, button front and attached hood, tube loops to run vegetation through, and a button-flap rear for tactical pooing. It also reverses to a "night" pattern that allegedly had anti-NVG/IR capabilities but is unknown. It also comes with a 3/4 face mask. Older ones had button cuffs/ankles but most you'll find are later ones with elastic.
They used to be cheap and common but $40 + shipping seems to be the "good" price for them nowadays.

The other common one is the KZS, which is a very similar item except two-piece, has khaki instead of white splotches, came with no mask, is made of fire-resistant treated burlap, and isn't very durable as it was intended as a few-time-wear then discard oversuit. They are more common and can be had for $20 +shipping, sometimes less.

Modern commercial uniforms are available in berezkha that were intended for FSB/MVD troops, prices vary on those.
Personally I prefer the beige/khaki spotted variant over the white one.
>>
>>34650359
However I need some professional input, in pic related I believe the Swiss man is wearing a leather combat belt, in which holds both his sidearm and bayonet while the gas mask bag is fastened over the belt.

I'm pretty sure that's what it is, but I'm not 100%.
So if somebody can tell me for-sure what it is or what they reckon it to be, I'll love you forever. and make sure to thank you once the uniform is complete.

1. KLMKs are the cheaper one-piece coveralls from the USSR period. $50-100, there's some collectible models out there worth much more if you know what to look for.

2. The 2-piece set is a late Soviet early RusFed uniform, believe it's called a KM-A, much less common and more expensive with matching beret, mask and hood.

Varus used to have those, basically a thick brown leather belt you attach your bayonet/holster, and maybe some other special gear but I've never seen anything other than those two in pics.
From what I've seen; map cases, binocular cases, holsters, gas mask bags, bayonets and the e-tool when the ruck wasn't worn are about the one things that didn't have their own pocket on the uniform.

Older uniforms like the TAZ 62 had integrated bayonet pocket things under the left arm but the later and more common TAZ 75 doesn't have them.
If Alpen was around he could post his older TAZ uniforms and tell you all about the differences, I don't remember all of them off the top of my head.

KZS is a very cheap, thin over-camo you're supposed to throw away after the third wash or so, even the first will severely fade it out.
KLMK isn't very durable either but it's a bit stronger than the KZS.
Some guys in Afghanistan wore nothing but underwear under their KZS/KLMK, you can too, but you won't have pockets. It's a matter of comfort but whatever gear you have must have enough pockets/pouches to hold everything you need including what you'd normally have in your coat/pants pockets if you decide to go KLMK/KZS with nothing underneath.
Those two piece rainsuits are very popular and come in basically every color/camo under the Russian sun. I don't have one myself but I heard they're fine.

I'm afraid the gorka would more-than-likely be too hot to wear here, as I'd imagine it probably doesn't breath very well.

I am looking for something in a russian camouflage (something like berezka or partizan, not too big on flora after conscription) which is a regular sort of field dress uniform, and as durable and lightweight as Canadian Forces OD combats (which I imagine it in itself is a rip-off of vietnam era US combats), can you advise?

SS Leto is a rather neat Ruskie camo, you can find a Summer suit on Ebay for 41$ in total.
>>
>>34650979
Giena Tactics makes some modern style uniforms in berezkha.
If you're looking for something thin and easy, you could try one of the summer oversuits.
It is intended for hot weather, has pockets, is more durable, and can be worn by itself as well.

The boots aren't too bad.
It's mainly just the gaiters.
I find that it looks more stout and proud when the trousers are tucked in, but hey, to each his own, eh?

Pic somewhat related, IDK why but the trouser being tucked just seriously appeals to me.
Also boots where the sole is maybe 2-inches thick at most are the best for Cold-War era boots of most sorts.

They are germans...

But as far as i remember the clothing is pretty straightforward. The assault packs, Teil 1 and Teil 2 each come with their own insides and outsides (meaning T1 has the Zeltbahn and T2 has the blanket), and the rest just needs to be put up in the right order, which i dont know.

The summertrousers are really nice for summer, relatively thin, but still sturdy. And according to my father, if you are ever in a blizzard, have an old NVA winter uniform on you, they are heavy but will keep you warm.

It's not much different than the M65 jacket with the liner, the thing about the fishtail parka is that it is intended to be the outer layer, worn over the M65 jacket which is over your sweater, over your thermals and such. So it depends on how much layering you intend to do.

Ah, I see. In St. Petersburg temps floated around -20 C. I wore a tshirt, a warmer but otherwise pretty ordinary fashion jacket, and then I had my waterproof coat over that.

I was hoping to find a coat that would be warm enough so I could wear a t-shirt or light sweater and have the single additional coat layer on top. I just checked historical and average temps for where I'm going and it looks like it's never even hit -10 C, let alone gotten anywhere near -20 C.

1. Poachers pouch, good place to store dry clothes in a bag or dead animals if you're actually poaching
2. Its a sniper veil, it rolls down to cover your face.
3. Yes, but wax your gear, and I think its more along the lines of latex basex on how it yellows. I had a bit on my knee tear up and I patched it with some liquid latex
>>

>Roger, how do you recommend I was the parka/trousers and how will it affect the resin/beeswax waterproofing?
Cold wash to prevent the wax from leaving the fabric. Every wash will probably ruin the wax a little, just rewax. You shouldn't wash camo anyway, stains and spots add to the pattern

You taking any full TTsKO/M04/Karst pics inside there?

Basic rubber suits are still effective for the most part. The active charcoal stuff, not so much.
>>

No I'm gearing up for a lot of house disruption as we play room swapsies. I want to put a frame around the bed in the new room, like an old four poster right, and I wonder if I can use camo fabric.

anyone know an acceptable price for a surplus FLC vest?

Ooh baby you hold onto a couple of those.

That is absolutely fascinating design. Thanks for the insight.

The activated carbon ones degrade, but if you don't mind getting covered in carbon dust, they works pretty decently as scent blockers when hunting.

Hey swissfags,
I've started looking for an M70 jacket/parka/pack but am hitting a bit of an issue. I am a 6'1" 270# fatass and typically buy XLT or 2X jackets. 2X seems to have dried up from most of the sellers I've come across.

How true to size are most sellers sizing options? If I get an XL would I end up in stuffed-sausage/waist coat land?

Been away for awhile, so only partially rape me if this has been covered recently. What the fuck happened to Cantactical? Ordered a set of crye cut Rhodie fabric tops and bottoms from them when they offered; obvious delay. IG'd them when they had the tiger stripe and asked to convert my order to a set of those instead; that was like 2+ months ago and no response or no refund.

FLCs are probably the cheapest MOLLE-compatible vests out there. I've seen brand new ones on eBay for less than ten bucks.
