The frame is starting to look like what it is.
Because it stopped looking like what it isn't
>create curved surface tangent to some line
>it should be tangent to another line as well
>error pops up saying that it's an infinitely small error or something with the curved stuff
every time this happens, gah
>>34643281
The frame looks like what it is because it's not what it isn't, and it's not what it isn't because it is no longer what it was. The frame subtracts what it was, from what it is, to determine what it will be. This is called "progress".
How's the simplification process going OP?
Hi guys, kinda nervous about asking stuff so I included my first shitty attempt at sketching an Owen gun out.
Are there any programs for 2d modelling?
I know it's autistic but I love the aesthetics and I'm struggling to get the resolution I want to make dimensionally accurate sketches.
Also is it actually worth dedicating the time to 3d modelling?
If so, what application should I be using for a mac (yeah I hate my life but I bought it two years ago and I'll be damned if I get another computer before it shits itself)?
Please be gentle

>How's the simplification process going OP?
Have a few ideas bouncing around. Nothing quite ready to put on paper.
You guys got any good files anywhere?
I've been meaning to check out a lot of the models and mockups you guys post in these threads I was wondering if you guys actually have an archive of anything deemed interesting.

>Drafting on a Mac
I'm going to recommend not doing that.
Even if you're just doing 2D stuff, I still recommend using parametric software like SolidWorks/Inventor/etc. Sure, you could get by with AutoCAD, but any time you have to change the geometry of something you're going to burn more and more time because it's clunky as fuck. If you build your parametric models properly, everything just falls into place as you define the geometry.
And yes, it's worthwhile making the 3D model itself. You can use the 3D model to generate drawings that would be a huge PITA to do manually, if not fucking impossible. Imagine doing an offset section off of an auxiliary view that is parallel to none of the major planes.

you could try algodoo, its a 2D physics program designed for school kids but its pretty neat once you pick up the ropes. ive made a blowback that works on it though if you want something that can translate to real life its not that good. fun for messing around however

Algodoo is fun, but it really is just a toy. Great way of teaching physics to children/teens, though.
What is the secret to designing bullets?

Material Physics?
Does anyone have 9mm makarov chamber dimensions?
Bump
Asking if anyone has a model of a beretta 92/m9 slide that has correct dimensions. Went to grabcad and there was one but the guy saud the dimensions aren't correct
>>34645405
Unless you're making it for the military (which means no ebul lead allowed, and no hollow points) then cast lead bullets are the way to go, hollow points if massive penetration isn't required. There are plenty of resources available online for that.

no reason why but now i want a feed strip fed pistol
>>34646841
I want a belt fed pistol that looks like a tec-9 and just has the belt of ammo hanging down from the "mag" well jangling around. Kinda like those Chaos Space Marine bolters
Would look ultra fucking baller, pic related

what the fuck dude. you can get the full PDF free but it just isn't the same.

print it

Would any of you know how hard the firing pin has to strike the primer of .357 mag and .44 mag? Also on an unrelated note does anyone know how to make belts for a belt fed gun? Is there a book or something?

Just nut up and buy a copy.

I know I've posted it in the past, something like 8 foot pounds. Check the archives.

Different anon, but dated a horse back riding instructor. Best ass ever, and she'd wrap her legs around me so fucking tight. Still don't know why she left me, but that's horse girls. They're crazy but a lot of fun.

Form up some kind of group buy and get the kindle version then share with other kommandos?
>>34650917
I mean, if you're going to be designing and producing an entirely new round/projectile, you'll end up investing a hell of a lot more than 133 bucks.
>>34650078
Honestly think technical books need to have a diffrent set of rules, there a bunch where all the archival shit they referenced is gone but they are still under copyright and can't be reprinted in even facsimile despite the company obviously never having an interest in doing so.

At that point, they can cry me a river if people pirate their shit.
