My grandfather just gave me his old air rifle. I did some research and found out that it is a BSA Club standard .177 (I thought it was a Lincoln Jeffries or a model D at first, they look similar) The serial number starts with CS (Meaning it is a club standard) and is in the 33 thousands, so early 1930s I think (Maybe 31 32). Its in usable condition, needs a new rear sight blade, rear guard screw and butt plate (Sight and screw have been ordered but have not found a butt plate yet). But considering its age and condition, it shoots pretty freaking well. Even considering the rear sight is broken, my grouping with it (From a fair distance) was pretty good. Its a really fun gun to shoot.
Also post your current air guns if you have any/what ever you had in the past.
My first air rifle was a Chinese SMK B2 I bought for £20 off a mate (Sold it later for £50), I then had a weihrauch hw35 for a bit. I now have a Parks Rifle co RH93 .22 and of course this BSA (Both were given to me from my Grandfather)

current arsenal:
>Crosman 1377 (broken, probably a valve lock)
>1950's Diana mod. 23
>Hatsan mod. 95 in .177
>Some old Relum break barrel in .177 that usually can't even clear the barrel
>Record lp 2 pistol
desu it would be a pretty neat little lineup if everything worked. Think I'm gonna fix them up, and I bought the 1377 to turn it into a nice silent, compact carbine with some gmac custom parts.

why the fuck does it say "desu" in that last line of my post?
>>34643624
Because you typed "t b h" like a facebook-using nigger.

I'm sorry desu

lmao

Just ordered this a couple days ago, it's more accurate than I thought it would be. Had the option of .177 or .22, went with .22. Has a tiny bit of surface rust I'll be taking care of tonight.

I'm not an air-rifle guy but damn, these are nice
As a bong on the long road to real guns I'm pretty happy with mine, 1"-2" groups at 25 yards so far.

What is the cheapest I can kill a groundhogs with without making it suffer too much?
I hate the fucking thing for digging through trash and eating my garden but just want it dead.
>>34646332
Depends on what range you're going to be shooting at them from. Anything up to 50yrds you could easily pick off with a cheap break barrel. $150-$200 will be more than enough.
>>34645276
What gun is this?
>>34645572
Thanks man!
>>34646818
It's a Xisico B5. I've seen them labeled as the BAM B3-1 as well but mine's called a B5 for some reason.
>>34646417
Probably within 10 yards, the thing has no fear despite me throwing rocks at it
>>34646979
Well I mean rocks are ultimately cheaper but if they're that close then just find any, co2 or spring will be fine that close, get a .22 though they've got better take down power with small game.

Thanks bro

Any tips for used ones? Probably not going to shoot it unless for pest control.

If you're going down the 2nd hand route the easiest things to check for are things like barrel lock up, if it's a break action that is, make sure that's all tight, make sure seals aren't trashed and see if you can test shoot the rifle, listen out for a "honk" noise, meaning the piston is dry and needs lubing (which isn't difficult anyway but still). With co2's just listen out for leaks with a cartridge in, that's about it. Most stores will have a used section anyway and, if it's a half respectable place they'll of check it all over before hand anyway.
