Safety is about as good as the remington with this grip. Lighter receiver (aluminum), but heavier-walled barrel evens it out.

Just to clarify, the OAL needd to be that same or more than that what was in the approval letter. It also needs to have been made originally as a Remington TAC or whatever it's called. If you just take an regular 870 and modify it, you're going to jail.

The various laws/rulings of the ATF are muddy and confuse even people like me. If you're gonna do a project like this, get advice from people who KNOW what they are talking about.

Picked up a Rem 870 Tactical Express from a guy at work for $300. He even added a pistol grip slide. 6+1 3", 7+1 2 3/4" Love the damn thing more than any of my other shotguns. Black Scary Tactical is a good outfit for shotguns.
