The USAF is one of the least bloated branches. They make things work with limited personnel. Just look at operation desert storm and shield. That was almost entirely a USAF effort. But no. The Space Corp will only siphon money from the Navy and remain under the USAF jurisdiction is a pseudo autonomous fashion, being likely even less so that the marines.
Frankly your hatred for the USAF when things like the navies PoS aircraft carrier and rail gun exist, and the armies bloated to hell personnel exist, confuses me. Feel free to explain.

The only good thing about them is that they are able to manage procurement costs reasonably well, or at least their programs don't end up cancelled.

You are a moron if you don't realize how relatively efficient the AF is, especially when they are in control of most of our nuclear arsenal, and are on the forefront of our intelligence. Let me clarify. The Navy recently won a cyber security contract, however the Space Corp is not limited to outer space. In reality, the Space Corp primary mission will be concerning cyber efforts, thus stealing funds from the navy. On top of that, it will remain under AF control as far as chain of command goes, with very limited autonomous control similar to the marines, but likely even less than they have.
On top of that, any future space type warfare was likely to go to the Navy anyway, especially with their research into rail guns and other such weaponry. Really all this does is give more power to the Air Force because they remain in control of the SC and have further claims to the hints which were earlier out of their jurisdiction.
My other points concerning the efficiency of the AF are rather straight forward. It has been undermanned for years now and continues to function extremely efficiently for its number of perssonel and rather vast mission, being the maintenance of nuclear weapons, it being on the forefront of military Intel, the level of its specialization and it's R&D projects concerning unmanned weaponry.
As far as my point concerning the future of warfare, drones and specops are pretty much it. Ground troops are going to become increasingly obsolete in a world where you can pin point a ballistic middle on a grain of sand.
