hello all found an FAL with Brazilian IMDEMBL receiver. do not have much faimlairiety ith them. Am i passing up a good deal or will this be a money pit some rust has been observed on the out case inspection of the internals showed no messed up borer and the parts looked fine yeah or nay?

You should call 911, I think you're literally having a stroke m8.
>>34624751
Imbel parts are generally really good. That appears to be a Century build though, so it could have a number of issues. What's the price on it?
>>34624831
$799 I want it but also am weary of the parts issues some rust was apparent upon inspection on the exterior the rifle internals did not have it however.
>>34624831
wait 700 I apologize. I took all liking to it and usually do well with old used firearms
>>34624859
>>34624872
Well, since it's an Imbel receiver, it'll be less likely to have problems than the L1a1 builds with Century's in house made receivers but could still issues.
For $700, I'd probably buy it. The parts alone are definitely worth that much.
>>34624888
thank for the input its between this and the PTR series, granted PTR might be easier to sit and wait to buy
>>34624895
I like PTRs too but FALs are more difficult to find at low prices. PTRs will be easy to find for a long time. I'd go with this for now.
>>34624914
thanks man agreed this is a rare find that if it comes to worse I can drop off probably for profit elsewhere
>>34624751
It's a piece of shit, OP.
>>34624888
>tfw I bought an SAR 48 for 600
Century build using a British or South African parts kit on an Imbel receiver. They did a lot of those in the 1990s. They usually work despite being Century builds. Can't see the price but probably your best bet for a FAL at a decent price.

699
>>34624751
next qestion, does anyone have any tips concerning the rifle, I know it British inches does this put me at disadvantage? also I know aftermarket parts are available should thing go wrong will it be a sroius problem?
>>34626494
Since it's an Imbel receiver it'll likely take the more common metric mags. If the forward locking lug looks like a sideways "D" then it takes metric. If it looks like a straight cut out bar then it takes inch.
>>34624751
>tfw Brazilian
>will never legally touch a FAL unless i join the army
>>34626996
how much of an issue is the magazines?
>>34624767
>Brazlain Reciver
>>34627666
If it's metric, it's not an issue since those mags are generally more common and cheaper. The inch mags are generally harder to find/more expensive.
>>34627725
You can use metric in both metric and inch pattern guns.
>>34627845
I didn't know that. Seems like the lockup would be much less consistent.
>>34627845
thank you, I never really looked at owning one unitl now

Here's the difference. Inch on left and metric on right.
