I found him when he was doing knife reviews and really enjoyed his candor, and frankly his list of prereqs for a good service firearm are pretty good, his personality can be certainly grating though, who goes up to some rando at the range and lectures them for half an hour or more? I certainly wouldn't that.

I'd very much trust his opinions if you can sort through the minimal shilling and bias.

he is an autistic sperg but the dude has his systems down and his advice is pretty good to be honest. Just drones on and makes 45 min videos on zooter riding systems. He puts time and effort in reviewing stuff so at the vary least if you disregard any other reasons he will be able to tell you if a piece of gear is reliable or high quality. His reviews come from how the gear works in his systems so just be aware of that and think of how you would integrate something for your own use. The one thing that I completely disagree with him on is on his review of the RAS47 it worked fine in his vids and for the most part will work fine for quite a while it is just a gun that is going to need major repairs within 10k rds and possibly sooner when the trunion or bolt die because pot metal.

He tried that shit with a bullshit/cheesy video I did comparing him to another idiot. This was a few years ago -- I got the YT notification that NutN was claiming copyright blah-blah-blah. I wrote back that it was "fair use". YT still blocked my video. Anyway, some amouth of time goes by and I get a second notification asking if I want to continue to persure my claim, and I said yes. months and months go by and I get a standard form message stating that my video had been unblocked. Apparently Mr. Hewitt doesnt have the cash to back up his big words.

I agree with his 'sapr' ideas. Lugging around a ~16lb loaded AR10 with glass on it gets old after a while. The M&P10 he has is the right idea; fuck full length quad rails, fuck ridiculously huge glass for at most 700m shots, and get the gun to under 12 lbs in the field.

His reviews are long, and he is super autistic, but I watch videos on some stuff I think about buying and they have useful information. You really need a take a grain of salt with his information on, him saying cast parts are fine on AK's. The one time he fucking drilled out the rivets holding on a NPAP rail because he thought it was out of spec, when in reality he didn't know he could move the rail on the mount to zero the optic. Then that one time recently where he was shitting on the DPMS gen 2 for having problems ejecting and extracting, turns out he didn't even notice the second extractor being missing.

I used to watch his knife videos and shit years and years and years ago, that stuff it just too much for me now. His acronyms are silly, but stuff like the philosophy of use is somewhat useful.

I view his reviews as being overly thorough and not just a bunch of hot air. Sure he could condense them, but that format works for him.

For instance, his tent reviews are really good for someone who doesn't know a lot about tents, and he gives every gun he reviews a very fair shake and just lets the testing he does speak for itself.

In terms of YouTubers he's one of the best so this is another case of 4channers hating everything.

Most people grossly over estimate the amount of pistol training soldiers get. To be honest. If I had to choose between a sooper seekrit special recon delta seal and a cop to have nore practical experience I would choose the cop all day every day. The cop k kws way more about what happens in my world. He knows the tactics that burglars and muggers are using. Their weapons training is almost 100% pistols. Also the undercover cops are masters at ccw and not printing. In a nutshell they have experience in the world we live in. The military guys have a great skillset. It's just not practical for my life.
