just saw it tonight

it wasnt a swashbuckling tale of the allies triumphing over nazis

it was an ode to to the "plucky brit" mentality and focused on the terror and hopelessness of the situation with little dialogue and stunning visuals

probably nolan's best, as a WWII buff and angloboo I'd give it a solid 9/10

It was good, very very good. Big fan of the non-linear story telling, some absurdly bad-ass and heroic moments along with a whole host of raw humanity. It was good.
>>
I felt the price of Enfields rise about a dollar a minute as I was watching that movie. Hope you bought yours before this weekend.

It was petty good, I enjoyed it. Solid 9/10
>>
Only thing I found silly about the movie is how long the spitfire glides over the beach and then shoots down the Luftwaffe fighter

I loved it. unfortunately had to see it in a small town theater but i imagine watching it in imax would be a once in a lifetime experience.

Can't wait. I remember a slew of WW1 era weapons going up in price after that one video game came out a while ago. Luckily I have most of what I want from that era, but I feel for anyone who doesn't.

the only negative, albeit a big negative for me as it made it impossible to suspend my disbelief, was that there was absolutely no gore.

you have people getting strafed by air planes, bombed, torpedoes, and crushed, yet all the bodies shown were in one piece. no dismemberment, no gore. only two people were shown with blood, one of them from an injury sustained from a fall.

if he went for a R rating and not pg-13 it would have been much better.

Well now I have to watch it

Do we get to see french defender or it's just pure anglo propaganda.

Seems like the latter.

I just got back from seeing it in 70mm. $20 per ticket, and worth every goddamn cent. The sound alone justifies the price. The jericho trumpets in particular legitimately scared the crap out of me.
>>
>>34617190
Great film, Stuka's roar in imax gave me goosegumps

However, because of PG 13 bullshit, it coudn't get the dirty, violent sense of the beaches, for example clean and unviolated bodies of the air raid victims
>>
>>34617190
it's just Zionist British propaganda
>>

>'The French will have to make their own film if they want their national story properly told.'

-Max Hastings

They also left out the plucky Dutch and Norwegians who pulled soldiers off the beach, as well as the plucky Soviets who were something something let's move onto another subject.

Watched it in IMAX. Was fucking amazing! The Stuka sirens gave me a hard on and I heard them replay in my head an hour after finishing the film. It also pissed off USA Today, they claimed it wasn't diverse enough...only more reason to go watch it.

I work at a movie theater and Dunkirk has been doing RETARDEDLY big numbers. Mostly old people, which is the demographic around here. 6 1/2 hours into my shift and I'm ready to fucking die.

But working this shit is going to help buy my first pistol so fuck it.
>>
>>34617190
It was pretty awesome. Saw it in IMAX on opening night. One thing is that it was really loud. Like the gunshots and explosions sounded piercing and you would get nervous as the shells were exploding. They also gave us free T-Shirts which was nice.
>>

Truth. Where did you see it?

>>
>>34617190
does it address how the Nazis, in a gesture of peace let the allies evacuate instead of wiping them out??
>>
>>34619909
Respect the Brits you faggot. When America purges and whites flee to Europe you're going to be taking DNA tests to prove you belong.

Pg-13 means that awhile from now DVD sales could go to schools. Then again somehow my history teacher got away with showing Saving Private Ryan and that was in 2014
>>
>>34619447
The 1 week/1 day/1 hour thing at the beginning was supposed to relay the overall length of each of the 3 narratives. So the Spitfire was only over the course of an hour so the plane was only gliding for like 5-10 minutes.. That said, it'd be impossible to turn successfully without thrust.
>>
>>34617190

It was a good movie. I really enjoyed the scene with the battleship getting hit by a uboat. The feeling of just being trapped in a sinking metal box full of sea water was terrifying.
>>
>>34617190
how could you like a movie that whitewashed the British army. if any of you played battlefield one you would clearly know that about 3/4 of the British army were people of color and i didn't see a single person of color in that movie
>>
It was good, very KINO, sparse in the way of dialogue though.

Bane makes a cameo
