>single stack 75 compact and RAMI?
They've heard it before. Seems like to me they're gonna focus on plastic for carry/duty stuff and the steel stuff will be competition stuff.

>SVD lookalike with 58 type innards? or a 5.7fn pistol based on the cz52?
Wouldn't hold my breath
>>
>>34608933
alloy, though not steel. if they send out shadows and SAOs for race guns, they get sent to custom shops. it seems like their 75s leave factory at like 95% what with tool marks and paint finish memes, then the end user has custom work done or adds cajun parts.
The PCR/alloy compact is sold out everywhere, RAMI decockers are difficult if not impossible to find, and 85's are going up in price. meanwhile, EVERYWHERE has a bunch of gay ass polymer guns. What did the CSA vz58s go for msrp? 800? I cant find one for less than a grand now. does CZ seriously not know whats going on in the US gun market? or does CZ-USA just not have tooling for metal?

I have a hard time believing a 5.7fn pistol wouldnt sell, nobody else makes one

>>
>>34609046
My only experience with CZ-USA is that they seem very incompetent and at times appear to be at odds with the custom shop.
>>
I carried a CZ-82 regularly (until I lost my cheap holster) and I loved it. As far as shooting goes their a bit snappy, but not too much for a puss to handle, small profile makes it easy to hide in the colder months of Michigan, good sights, great single action trigger, and the mag size is great too. I really like the way the grip is easy to get ahold of too.

As for everyone and the mag catches. I would say the positioning is slightly odd, I would attribute it to the relief cut on the release button itself, and the more European grip. I tend to shift my grip in order to release the mag. Not a big deal but a hyper slickfag would surely bitch.

Need a PCR, anon? Only a couple left, but they're in.
http://www.damascusgunshop.com/CZ-75-D-PCR-Compact-p/91194.htm

They just had a bunch of RAMIs in a few weeks ago too.
97B/BD's basically don't exist outside of armslist.
CZ just seem way too slow on their releases and only do a couple "cycles" each year so once they're gone that's it until next year.

I just realised how fucking cool a big Rami would look, like a compact sized class
>>
>>34607569
I do.

They're juuuuuust too big to picket CC, but perfect for IWB. They're like a full size service pistol in a sub-compact package. The recoil is snappy but light if that makes any sense. The sights are good, the trigger is kinda long and uneven, but has a clean break in SA and the DA is actually smoother than the SA.

Only options are DA or cocked and locked, as the safety sadly requires the hammer to be back.
The magazines are a nice size for carrying extras. The frame being steel makes it a little heavy for its size though.

9x18 makarov is 9x18 makarov. A wonderful cartridge for Guns of this size.
I wouldn't CC it if it was in a firearm larger than this though, as anything bigger could and probably should be in 9mm Parabellum (large enough to fit a locking mechanism easily, that is)

A makarov is slimmer, especially with Bakelite grips, but tends to have a worse trigger and obviously less capacity. The recoil tends to be lighter on makarovs.

So.

Take your pick. Snappier recoil and a need to carry with the hammer back or no safety and a wider gun in exchange for more rounds, nicer sights, and a nicer trigger?

It's up to you.

Rami was actually based on a larger gun called the cz40b. This was a contract between colt and cz to produce a handgun for the american leo market.
It attempted to emulate the controls and grip angle of a 1911.
Colt being a dead beat dad pulled out and left cz with the 40b. Being strictly catholic they had to raise it.

Later it was cut up and made into a sub compact gun by 2 very very good friends

Don't. I've used CZ75 mags in my P07 like a motherfucker. I've had zero issues. I wouldn't use them when carrying just because they stick out a little

Anyone use Mec-Gar CZ 75 mags? I've been tempted by them as they seem to be more reasonably priced alternatives to original pieces.
>>
>>34621201
Mecgar is the OEM for like everyone, including CZ besides the P07-09 mags (or at least they aren't offering mecgar branded ones yet).

>lucky bastard.
Was this recently?
>>
>>34621201
Mec-Gar is one of several OEM magazine suppliers for CZ
they are also some of the best value around there is for mags
they're priced cheap and work great, I use them for all my guns that they make mags for
>>
>>34619344
I heard talking to a vendor at a gunshow that some are really subpar because they're cobbled together from mismatched parts. I guess some ruin the name of the whole lot.
>>
>>34621115
How much wiggle is there with regular 75 mags in a P07, side to side and front to back? Is the lock up just as good as in a regular 75 besides the play? I was thinking worst case I could get some thin metal shim stock and locktite it to the sides of the mags to get a snug fit.

I liked the feel of the P-01 a lot,it fit my hand very well, but it's pretty hard to justify the $600ish. I should try to find a P-07 too look at, especially since I saw them for $390-$400 ish a few weeks ago. Probably will carry it if I can.

They're notoriously drop unsafe.

>During the 90’s, when police officers started carrying a round in the chamber after the level of security has taken a turn for the worse, doubts about the vz. 82’s drop safety started to surface in light of multiple accounts of drop-induced accidental discharge with severe consequences. Any deficiency in the design’s safety was initially dismissed by the Czech police management, until in 1998 in an accidental discharge following a drop, a bystander was hit in the head and gravely injured.

>During the following examination of the handgun by Prague’s Institute of criminal investigation, it was experimentally proved beyond a shadow of doubt that it was entirely possible for an accidental discharge to occur after said model of firearm was dropped. (Until then, a drop safety test used to be performed in adherence to the TP-VD-637-81, which was the methodology required by the handgun’s technical documentation. The methodology, which specified a number of ways for the handgun to be dropped – all from the height of just one meter – did not cover the worst case scenario: a drop straight on the hammer.) A follow-up investigation revealed that all revisions of the handgun since the start of production were affected by the issue. Every single vz. 82, regardless of whether the hammer mechanism was pre- or post-update, in otherwise acceptable technical condition and carried in accordance with the instructions for use, for example according to the DoD regulation Děl-21-28 „9mm pistole vz. 82,“ can suffer from an accidental discharge after being dropped from a reasonable carry/use height (even less than 1m), if a round is chambered at the time.

>>34623752
>>34607824
>>34607944

>This revelation, in light of the past accidents and other challenges faced during the service of the vz. 82 pistol, effectively sealed its service with the Czech law enforcement. Solving the issue would be complicated, among other things due to the fact many of the parts were being manufactured in a number of size categories (disconnector 1-5, sear 1-3, safety 1-4, trigger bar disconnector 1-5, rear sight 1-6) and some of the other parts weren’t interchangeable between all of the revisions of the handgun. That would necessitate the acquisition and use of a wide range of specialized tools, keeping a surplus of different spare parts in stock and employing highly qualified specialized personnel (armorers).

>>34623756
>>34607824
>>34607944

>The decision to phase out the vz. 82 pistol from service in the Czech law enforcement (the military and the prison guard were perfectly happy to retain them in active service, and in Slovakia they’re being issued even to this day) was also influenced by the limitations of the 9mm Makarov / 9mm vz. 82 round, particularly its lower penetration and worse immediate incapacitation rate, its unimpressive accuracy and a narrow selection of bullet designs available on the market compared to the standard 9x19 round (9mm Luger). The price of the round compared to the already mass-produced 9mm Luger round was also higher. However, the outdated and obsolete vz. 82 pistols were still in the proces of being phased out by 2002, tied to the distribution of CZ 75 D Compact pistols chambered in 9mm Luger. (The adoption of which by the Czech LE was anything but smooth, but that’s a different story entirely.) A limited number of vz. 82 pistols was still in service by as late as 2008. „Between the years 2002-2008 the rearmament of the entire force was completed,“ confirmed the public relations officer of the Police presidium, Zuzana Součková. Yet according to sources close to Shooter Revue, a certain number of these handguns remains in service with the Ministry of Interior to this day.

Maybe eventually. Haven't shot it enough to know how reliable it will be. Shot some winchester white box through it and it functioned fine just didn't lock back. Shot a couple mags of 124gr +p gold dots and they worked fine. Using a 15# recoil spring.

Get a spaghetti cz.
Tanfoglio's full size is like $315 on Bud's. I think the design is better in terms of FPB and trigger pull, though they cast instead of forge frames.
No experience with the poly tanfoglios.

>>34627766
My autism prevents me from seriously considering stuff like tristar's, arex zero's, pasta CZ's because of parts availability concerns.

Not sure why I suddenly became obsessed with parts availability with pistols and not anything else, probably since a pistol is more likely to get used defensively than anything else.

Plus I am left handed, and none of the knock off CZ's have decockers. If I wasn't so concerned about parts, and canik made decocker model's, I'd get a decocker t-100 or t-120.

I might be able to get used to using a right only safety with my left hand, but I don't have any access to pistols besides the gunstore and I can't get too fiddly with the merchandise.

>>
>>34607569
Why do you have crap taste in carry guns?

CZ82 is fine if you already have one, but you can literally get a better carry gun for less money. When they were $200, they were a steal, but they're just an outdated curio with a high price tag, now.

Tons of options in that price range, and also tons of better options than the PCR in its price range.

Pretty much everything interchanges between CZ clones, almost all of them are Tanfo designed. I use a Tanfo .22 kit on my Jericho, for example. Numrich, EAA, Tristar, and RIA all have parts and probably will for a long time, EAA has been around for decades now, so I wouldn't worry about it.
The slide safety guns - TA-90, FAB-92, slide safety Jerichos are all ambi decockers out of the box.
Every frame safety model cocks and locks, but EAA sells ambi safeties. In principle, the Ambi safety should also fit every other tanfo-based clone.
My wife likes my Jericho and an Ambi Witness Compact above all others.

FAB92s ought to be pretty cheap, but I haven't shopped for one lately.

Thanks for responding. See a lot of instagram glock guys carrying comped/braked pistols and I was wondering what the main appeal was. Is it more of a standoff device for contact shots in cqb or is it a followup shot thing?
>>
>>34628485
Not him but if you wanted to be able to have contact shots, it would need to be a frame mounted one since ones attached to a threaded barrel or slide would still malf during contact.
>>
>>34628561
Thanks for clearing that up. I figure a well mounted sturdy light would make a better standoff device as long as it extends past the barrel.
>>
>>34628245
Does it add much weight? Could you weigh the factory stock vs the ACR/adapter?

>>34628485
For me it was more of a why not, already got the huge light on it so it doesn't really add too much bulk. As long as it's reliable and provides a slight increase in tracking sights might as well have it. I had been planning on building up a glock like it but then someone I knew decided to sell their p-07 so I just went with that. Found a holster it fits in decently and carried it around the house a bit and it's not too bad, of course I usually carry a 92fs puts it at about the same length as that but the grip is a lot easier to conceal.
>>
Right now I see P-01's for 6ish and PCR's for five and a half, are they any less when new batches come in?

Anyone have a Shadow 2 yet? How is it?

I'm living in MA currently (Life is suffering for CZ fans here) but getting ready to move in ~2 weeks. Looking to buy a Shadow 2, P-09 Urban Grey, and get some form 4's going for suppressors the instant I can.
>>
>>34625282
I want to carry a 2075 but god damnit they're expensive for a carry gun.

I might just avoid trying to get a BD and just get the B model. I'm thinking about doing competitive shooting anyways, so having the safety may not be such a hindrance (since most competitive CZ's use them anyways).
>>
>>34629324

What type of competition are you considering doing? If you're going to do USPSA Production, you might consider the BD for ease of use. Start position is generally hammer down, safety off. If you don't have a decocker, you have to lower the hammer manually when starting a stage.

I do it and it's not a big deal, but some people are really uncomfortable with it. Just wanted to give you something else to consider.
>>
>>34629324
I carry a b. Paid 589 before tax. I feel like carry guns shouldn't be something to compromise on. I bought it because it checked all my boxes. I could've bought something twice as expensive at the time. There was just nothing else that fit my criteria that was practical.
