Thread almost a day old and no one talking about strumtiger.

Nope, the Chyrsler TV-8 design would've had a small scale nuclear plant in the rear of the turret assembly. Hard to say. You'd get some added muzzle velocity, sure, but gyrojet propellant is different from normal smokeless propellant. Maybe some of the gas stays in the barrel and corrodes it. Maybe nothing. You'd still have some heating issues since you're trapping hot gas in the barrel but I don't think it would be catastrophic.

After purchasing centurions the project lost some priority and therefore Bofors who was developing the turret decided that they rather spend all their engineering capacity on a 12cm anti aircraft gun instead.
