I'm pretty sure I've read that in a majority of cases where a firearm is used in self-defense, no one is killed.
Is this true? If so, anyone have a citation for it?
In return, some gun infographics

>Is this true?
probably because real life is NOT hollywood
unless a person gets shot in head or heart or major artery they usually have a good chance of surviving assuming they get to good medical care

You will find it in the work by Lott and also by Gary Kleck.
however, you won't find a definitive answer because this was all their own survey work. Both of these people are excellent methodologists so no one (say Donohue III) has claimed they did the survey wrong, but that gun owners may be more likely to over-report usage of guns in order to make it seem like lots of people have guns.
But it certainly something that seems/feels true. Someone tried to break into the kitchen window of my cousin's house and she ran and grabbed a rifle from the closet and pointed at the guy. He ran off. She told us but didn't call the cops. Something similar happened to my twice (with slight variations)
Plus, if you read about the civil rights movement, this happened frequently but wouldnt' be counted in any statistics.
