Get a non latex based paint faggot. I used rustoleum indoor/outdoor paint on my 74 and it's holding up well. Comes in a variety of colors.

Even when the barrel heated up the paint has held quite well

Easiest to do it like this
pros:
Literally the best looking modern option for optic mounting
Solid as fuck on the receiver
Easy to install
Pretty inexpensive for what it is compared to the competition
Para version available

cons:
Heavy as fuck compared to the competition
You lose one of the best parts of FAL reliability, being able to remove the top in 2 seconds if you need to get into the gun
It's possible that it won't like your receiver, and will forever screw down in a way that's slightly canted
Screws are pretty soft and will strip if you're not careful, again ruining the original pro of the FAL, being able to quickly get inside and unfuck it

I prefer the older parked ones to the newer ones


I'll take a pic of it in a second, but I swear mine is ever so slightly canted, no matter what I do. don't know why it is but it's shitty

I actually prefer my standard para sight to the standard post desu. I do kinda wanna grab one of those para bases that TDW has just for looks though, they're the same as standard rear sights but the base is cut short for para stocks
