Looking for a decent off-road for small but occasionally big game trailblazing.

Between the Dodge Ram Rebel TRX, Ford F-150 Raptor and Nissan Titan Warrior, what do you guys recommend?

I want something I can literally ram a buck or grizzly head-on if need be without skipping a beat. A weaponized pic/k/up if you will.
>>

literally no stock truck will ram anything over 30 pounds at any speed over 30mph without suffering fairly serious damage, enough to make you stop immediately or not long after. Affix a solid steel bullbar to the front of any truck, make sure its attached to the frame and the front suspension isnt maxed from weight, enjoy hitting things at speed.

Of those three the Raptor is by far the best option.
Fully boxed frame, excellent engine, way over designed shocks, and it sounds pretty good too.

For what you described though OP, you want a HD2500 or larger pick up with a fuck-off huge bush bar. Or a retired Humvee or similar.

Your given options are for going fast and jumping things, like a pre-runner. For what you describe as wanting you want a big, heavy, work type truck.

2019 Diesel ranger when they bring international version to US

Not going to run over a grizzly but it will be by far superior small pickup from a practical and durability standpoint.

Tacoma has gotten bloated over the years, and engine offerings of late are mostly shit from production and reliability standpoint.

They're actually bringing it back? I've got a '97 and it's a wonderful machine, but it's approaching the end of its lifespan and will likely need replaced. I thought a Taco was the only real option for a reasonably sized truck that isn't some ridiculously oversized and entirely-too-fucking-tall motorized dick compensating tool— but if they're bringing the Ranger back, I might just stay with Ford.

If it does have totally independent suspension, sort of a damper on off-road. However, my IFS pos F150 hasn't let me down in any reasonable situation. With decent ground clearance, even if achieved by small lift aftermarket, and a winch, I don't venture off road seriously enough to NEED 2 solid axles. Jumping curbs, medians, and shrugging off the bumps and sometimes serious pitfalls of suburban/city driving (you may be surprised at the obstacles you may encounter in an abandoned industrial park) is ok for me. If I can make it through some logging roads or cover most of a power line access road I'll take it.

It isn't just Toyota, if they thought it would do well in the US they'd get it here even though it might take them 10 years.

The problem, at least from the couple of Hilux I drove while working in Africa, is that most of the things that make it 'better' than the Taco for people like us would have to be changed to comply with US regs. So the awesomely simple easily repaired D4D engine would need a DEF system which would make it shitty. It'd need airbags (maybe they have them now), the handbrake would probably have to be dumped for liability reasons, the simple electrical would need to be made much more complex. I don't know what would need to be done to pass crash tests but I suspect something that would suck.

And the US market doesn't care as much about payload. So why not make the bed out of plastic and the suspension fluffier for a better ride on our reasonably maintained roads. Give up that to get more towing, which is what drives a lot of Americans into trucks to pull their giant boats or campers or WTF ever.

Most of what passes for factory off road vehicles in the US are all show and no go. Dana axles to turn big ass tires with bullshit weak ass recovery points, is just some guy who wants to look the part but wouldn't go /out/ with the thing for fear of scratching it. Apply that mentality to the pickup truck market and you turn the Hilux into the Taco, which is still a fucking awesome truck.

Don't get a raptor. You're better off getting a F150 or 250. Last september I got a used 2014 F150 supercab with 4 wheel drive and a 6.5 foot bed. Plenty of room to operate and it only cost 30,000 even with 20,000 miles on it. That's half of the low figure of that raptor. You can easily add a snorkel, roll bar, front and back bumpers, skid plates and get a bigger lift for waaay less than what they want for the raptor. Raptors are pretty, but they're a meme truck status symbol.

>>34596524
what good does that lift do if your axles are still only a foot off the ground? Get some portal axles and put in an independent suspension. Also wtf is up those low profile tires, this is a literal bro-dozer paid for by daddies money.

I'm a salesman at a Ford dealership and can confirm that Ford F-150's and Superduty trucks are the most /k/ vehicles.

We routinely take firearms as trade-in (yes, we really will take guns as trade in for vehicles) and about a quarter of all vehicles we appraise for trade in have a firearm inside we discover during evaluation.

We might as well call them /k/ustomers. Swing by Lenoir City Ford for your next technical purchase and we'll throw in a free pintle mount in the bed!

Seriously though, fudds and resnecks buy way more truck than they need with far too many extras. We make a truck with 10,500 lbs towing capacity, massage seats, color-selectable LED accent lights, deploying running boards, and cooled seats.

Protip: early ecoboost engines have issues but 2015 and on are fine. Don't rev the engine in neutral or park, change your air filter, and pay attention to ANY fluid in the intercooler's catch pan. Do that and the engines will last damn near forever.
