OP would disagree with you.

He saw the other dude get out of his car and start walking up, then he got out to meet him.

The right way to behave in this situation(legally) is:

1. ignore angry driver but keep an eye on him in case he's tarded/armed.

2. stay on the road and call the police if followed.

3. if you cant do 2 then try your best to stay on the road and whatever happens stay in your car unless they have a firearm. This mean the guy has to either ram you with his car(green light for SD) , or get out of his car to approach you giving you a chance to escape in your car. Also if he wants to attack you with a melee weapon or his hands he now has to break his way inside your car before doing so. This creates physical evidence to support your story and also is typically going to be a green light for SD with lethal force. Car jacking is considered a forceable felony in most places and is reason to shoot somebody even if they're unarmed.

4. Do not show your firearm or tell them you are armed unless you can legally shoot them in a situation or are about to shoot them anyways. Warning somebody and then shooting them even though you could have shot them looks good legally. Warning somebody and brandishing a firearm when lethal force isn't legally allowed is typically illegal.

These kinds of situations are why i carry mace when i carry a firearm. a great tactic if somebody is waiting right outside your car door and you cant leave is to simply crack your window and mace them if they become violent. Punching your way through a auto glass window is easier said then done. Doubly so when you can barely breath/see. Not to mention i like having a way to show somebody it's time to fuck off without undue risk of being sent to prison for it.

I'm not the OP but I carry a PPQ with a viridian c5l, that green laser is bright as FUCK. Coupled with a decent light that has a nice wide throw it makes a competent carry and home defense gun, imo.
