Because they're richfags.

Then again, Hi-Point has made some questionable business decisions in the past.

First and foremost among them, apparently it is possible to convert some of their pistols (the .45 or the .40 I believe) to 10mm Auto quite easily, as done by Iraqveteran8888. Why they don't actually offer one from the factory baffles me, because a dirt fucking cheap 10mm pistol with a 10 round mag would be the utter tits.

The thing is, every single subculture and hobbiegroup have their own little thing that's cool to hate.

Do you like classic rock? It's cool to hate The Eagles.

Do you like modern pop? It's cool to hate Justin Bieber

Do you like rock? It's cool to hate Nickelback

Do you like American football? It's cool to hate the Dallas Cowboys.

Do you like the Internet? It's cool to hate sports.

Do you like video games? It's cool to hate Call of Duty.

Are you someone who's come in contact with a hipster? It's cool to hate hipsters.

Do you like shoes? It's cool to hate Crocs.

And finally -- do you like guns?

>It's cool to hate Hi-Point
Now let's look at all of these through an objective lens. What do all of these have in common? They were all once or are extremely successful with a general populace -- with that populace only being vaguely familiar with each hobbie/subgroup. (i.e. New to guns, music, film, etc)

Maybe because it became the mark of the novice. Maybe it's because it gives people the ability to feel like they aren't a novice anymore and they're able to place themselves on a higher totem pole that someone brand new. Maybe it is because the thing that's cool to hate really does suck -- BUT. It was popular for a period of time or is among the novice group, there for it has some sort of redeeming factor.
And that's what (for instance) the Hi-Point C-9 has. Nowhere else can you buy a gun that's:

>An American made problem solver
>A problem solver for just $150
>Able to beat the fuck out of it and it function fine
>Able to beat the fuck out of it and it still shoots where you aim
>Reliable for what it is
I like them. I've bought three and I own one. I gave one to my mother who lives inna Texas country and I wanted her having SOMETHING for protection that I wouldn't have to worry about if she didn't shoot it so often. The same with my wife's parents who aren't big gun people but didn't own a single thing for protecting their home.

And finally, one for myself. It used to be my ranch gun when I spent two years working a ranch in college. Didn't have to worry about it and it killed a hog and 4-5 snakes. Anymore it's always stashed away (if I'm not carrying or if my wife isn't carrying) in whoever's vehicle is being driven. I'll shoot it once or twice a year and keep her cleaned.

And while I own way nicer & cooler guns, it's the only one I'm willing to toss in my truck and not worry about.

And that's my rant.
>>
>>34583285
Iwould say it's more about attempt to disassociate at first and then it evolves into "it's cool to hate"

Second this, a little cringy but i get the idea
>>
>>34582991
It's ugly, heavy, poorly balanced, has low capacity and feels like shit in the hand.

These are not desirable qualities in a handgun, no matter the price or how simple the mechanics of the gun are.
>>
>>34583366
All of that is irrelevant. There's one complaint that is actually relevant and you didn't mention it: the tendency to occasionally have a round nosedive in the mag. Users say that this largely depends on the quality of the magazine used. Everything else is just nitpicking or aethetics faggotry.
>>
>>34583285
>Dallas Cowboys.
You mean the patriots

Suck it, losers
>>
I'll like them when they figure out double stack mags but before that they're just shit.
>>
>>34583597
If they ever decide to make an updated version that takes glock mags it would be unstoppable
>>
>>34582991
>Why are richfags so hellbent on shitting the AK of handguns?
because they blew 900 on an HK when they couldve bought a Canik or something that does the same thing for a fraction of the cost
>>
>>34582991
You better stop liking hipoints. I like having a gun everyone thinks is uncool.

Hi-Point is the oficial /k/ gun after it defeated the Glock on that mud test.
>>
>>34583422

I have this issue with my hi-point. Anyone know a good fix for rounds nosediving in the magazine? I've used different mags and they all seem to do this.
>>
>>34584453
From every video I've seen, filing down the feed ramp to have less of an edge, as well as fucking with the mag spring should fix these problems, but I'd sooner file the feed ramp than go fucking around with springs
>>
>>34584453
>Glock on that mud tes
Everyone I know uses the extended with little to no problems. But the standard mags have weak springs or some shit.
