Bill Ruger General! Lets discuss everything Bill Ruger related. The greatness of such an American entrepreneur, a visionary who shaped the American firearm industry for generations.

...I suppose we could also talk about "battle rifles" or something.

"Wild" Bill Ruger personally lobbied Congress to exempt the Mini-14 and Mini-30 from the AWB, and was cool with 10-round magazines.

Then after he died, his company cucked the NRA by making huge donations to the National Firearms museum once the AWB was lifted as a kind of make-up sex

People are too ingrained with knee jerk reactions to get a joke like that. Its a result of everyone being a dick to each other all the time.

Here's a gun thats going to shit on the scar hopefully. Anyone know what it is?

You guus know its not just him right? What a country raised their prices first, numrich steadily creeped up, old sarges surplus jumped from below $400 to $500 and so on in gunbroker.

>>34584470
Dude how much did your imbel receiver run you? Are you gonna put your fal together or send it to a builder? If the latter what 922r parts did you go with?

I'm not complaining. His prices are still good and the kit is in really good shape. I bought mine a few months ago because that was the cheapest I'd seen them in a while.

>>34585278
My receiver cost $600 but I've seen them go for between $500-600. That was just the guy who responded to my WTB ad on FALfiles. I'm going to build it myself. Kek.

Why is it a troll? It shows how sloppy a Ruger BX-25 magazine is and it doesn't feed all the time. There are lots of youtube vids complaining about it.

Then why does the recommended cut down .22 shell seem to fix it? (So far)
>>
>>34589686
Fix WHAT?

It's a single-feed magazine. No matter what's happening down in the guts of the magazine, the top round is always captured by the feed lips. It doesn't matter where the follower pushes or how it wobbles if the round is held by the feedlips; all that matters is that there is upward pressure. Why do you think the follower isn't contoured at all? It's shaped like an amorphous jellybean so it can apply pressure no matter it's orientation.

Shit, I think I'm getting trolled. God damn it.

One out of five of his plastic magazines failed. Instead of returning it to the store for a replacement immediately, or even tapping it to make the top round pops up like has been procedure for Ruger rotary magazines for FIFTY YEARS, he """""""struggles""""""" with it on video.

The follower has nothing to do with this, or the completely different Ruger rotary magazines wouldn't do it too. ALL magazines can malfunction, this is a fact of life, not an anomaly specific to Ruger BX25s. Pic related, one out of four Block magazines I bought was DOA. I got a replacement and continued life.

Are "people" really complaining about this? Try emptying a Butler Creek in one string then complain about BX25s again.
>>
>>34590035
>Ruger rotary magazines
The BX-25 is not a rotary magazine.
>>
>>34590064
The BX25 has also not been around for fifty years. Re-read my entire post, slowly please.
>>
He did some things right and some wrong. Ruger still exists and is a decent company. Their service to our civilian market is top notch today.

How do you feel about AR-10's?
>>
>>34591994
I think I could like them if there was parts interchangeability between the different manufacturers. With that I think the price would fall on them.
>>
>>34591464
>Their service to our civilian market is top notch today.

That's generally the case with gun companies where the majority of their sales are to private citizens. They know they need to give us what we want, or they go out of business. Government contractors on the other hand, tend not to give a shit about us dirty civvies. Beretta and H&K being notable exceptions.
>>
>>34592200
Exactly why it will never happen. Manufacturers see what direct competition does to price when company A and company B both have parts interchangeability. This forces them to fight over prices until they are as low as possible. However, if company A and B both make similar products that have no matching parts, they are forced to be purchased as a whole. You can piece them together yourself, and you can't hunt down deals for true budget builds. It's healthier for the bottom line to stay proprietary. What we will see is third party supporter for which ever "standard" ends up on top. We are starting to see this with DPMS ar10's where companies develop single items with a drop in fit. We'll need to see tha market for every competing standard die due to either DPMS becoming exceptionally affordable or exceptionally higher quality, eliminating all actual choice on the market.
