Are there any pointless, overpriced, impractical guns that you want because of rule of cool, or an association with a particular group or conflict?

Dunno if it's different with a stock on, but my k-clone feels every ounce of 7lb if you try and one-hand it.
Not that anyone with a functioning brain would shoot it single-handed.

M60, because Charlie's always planning something.
Yes OP.
Yes.
In a very particular order:
FAL - reason I don't: no reason I should have it plus .308 is spensive. reason I want: rhodieboo
M1a- see above plus its worst battle rifle. Reason: can yell "gooks in the tree line" when I shoot with friends.
M16 A2 civvy clone - already have a practical AR. Reason: same as M1a, but cheaper to feed
HK PSG1- Christ is this beast fucking expensive for no reason. Reason I want: Metal Gear plus the A E S T H E T I C
that's not even touching the pistols I want

.308 roller lock's in full retard on not all that fun anyway.
>>34573495
PSG1's have a reason for being expensive.
Exclusivity.
why is the mp5 so heavy? i thought the point of the rollers was so you could have a light bolt and stamped sheetmetal should be lighter than milling. thats more than a basic m4 and im not seeing much advantages.

>>34572817
It's heavy as shit. I don't consider myself a weak shooter, but the gun really is a piece of damn metal. It weighs almost as much as a (loaded) Lee Enfield Jungle Carbine I have.
As for OP, I really want an FN P90. I have no reason to buy the thing and its ammo is pricey, but I just fucking love how it looks. You also normally can't get hold of the fully automatic model even straight from FN, which sucks.
>>34572817
MP5K is around 2000g. If you think thats heavy, you should probably invest in a water gun instead.
>>34574569
depends on the variant and ammo I guess but weights range from 5.5lb to 6.8lb for the regular non-suppressed versions. Magazines are 0.26lb-0.37lb. 30rd of 124gr 9mm is 0.83lb. HK's website has weapon and magazine weight. Wikipedia has the weights of each variant in a quicker list on the right side though.

try 3100g, 6.8lb. It's not objectively heavy, it's heavier than expected. Most people are used to ARs which are about the same weight, sometimes lighter, despite firing 5.56.
>>34574662
ok so we're looking at MP5k not the regular version. Everyone talked about the weight of the regular versions

>1600 for a turkish mp5
Total rip off when PTR's go for less than 1k and are american made. Shame the market is so fucked. The MP5 is kind of a cucked gun only on semi auto too.
>>34575116
>wanting to pay for .308
The MP5 does kind of suck without a fun switch but it's a goddamn amazingly handy little gun, especially MP5K clones.
>>34572758
>>what even are ergonomics
What are you talking about pham, the MP5K has serviceable ergonomics. It just isn't meant for wrong-handed people
>>34574676
>try 3100g
Christ, that's nothing. People complaining about this should stop being lardass faggots and hit the gym instead.
>>34575372
>straight up useless push button mag release
>impossible to reliably insert a full magazine on a closed bolt
Those are my two big issues with it, really. Aside from that my particular gun is stiff as fuck when charging on a dropped hammer, and the safety lever takes more force to flip up than you can get without shifting your grip.
>>34575002
That is one thicc gun
All the guns I want and most of the guns I own are impractical
>>34575689
>P90
>impractical
>>34575689
Indeed.
>>34575707
Impractical by the modern popular wisdom. I still don't think it would be a bad home defense carbine, but the masses will tear you to pieces for claiming so.
>>34575736
Isn't the point of the p90 for vehicle drivers and such to carry them as a compromise between size and firepower
i think the ps90s limitation in the US is ammo selection, or rather lack of.
>>34573618
WHAT THE FUG
>>34575736
It'll be better than a .22 but by how much In really don't think matters when you have better options.
Also the krink is very practical.
>>34576350
Well isn't that just a sin against all that is holy.
>>34576375
How is the krink more practical? It's less ergonomic. It has a shorter barrel despite being a longer gun. The short barrel wastes the velocity potential of 5.45. It's extremely loud and brightly flashing. The sights are rudimentary. It has more recoil. And holds less ammo. By almost every metric the PS90 is more practical.
>>34574524
It's what they were meant to be, not the butchered version we got in the US
>>34575388
It's not objectively heavy, just more than anyone expects for a modern(ish) 9mm. People are used to larger, just-as-light AR
>>34575372
Lemme elaborate (6ft right hander here)
>safety hits web of thumb
>charging handle notch pinches skin
>mag release is right where I naturally TD, slightly too far to reach normally, but still close enough to accidentally hit
>pistol grip is pretty heavily angled (I much prefer those 90 degree AR grips)
>buttplate felt like total ass (it could have just been this single gun)
>cheek weld is 'ok' on the telescoping stock
>once I put the stock far enough out the gun is kinda front heavy
Some of this is lack of training. I only handled it once. My experience would be greatly improved with a steep pistol grip though, that would wash away the grip, safety, and LOP issues.
>>34577314
Those mag release buttons are way too stiff to accidentally press. Also the navy stocks are well known to be uncomfortable.
>>34572758
Something like this. Make a little baby .308 with a 16in barrel for popping deer and cans inside 500 yards. Probably throw something like the 1-8 strike eagle on in and not a big ass nightforce though.
>>34573524
this guy gets it.
>>34572758
>>34574498
It also has non existent ergonomics.
And fuck the retard who decided to make you have to use your left hand for everything, it's fucking stupid.
M240 (whatever the newest lightweight variant is)
M107 (May actually buy this one)
HK416
MP7
And maybe something like a MK23 or Deagle or one of those Glock conversions to shoot .460.
Also an AK I suppose, don't really need one with my ARs, but it would be fun.

>But prepared to blow 10k on this Rifle setup to be "known as a Sniper"
>>34572817
It's not. They're between 4.5 and 5.5lb depending on the stock you put on them.
OP was talking out of their ass
MAT-49 I like the retro pressed metal box shape.
>>34574498
why the fuck is there a forward grip behind both the grip and the mag well
>>34582397
That's the LMG version. You hold the back grip when using the bipod in the prone position. Some MGs have handgrip-like stocks for that purpose but since the L86 is bullpup without a stock they have to ghetto on an extra grip.
>>34575818
yes its a PDW

>>34575831
This, to get the only ammo worth shooting someone with (T6) you have to wait months for it just to be sold out in seconds.

>>34573495
same regarding the FAL. Rhodieboo stuff + upotte are the reasons i want one even though arguably a PTR91 is more logical.
I will say this, a NICE FAL (SA58, good imbel build, NOT a Voyager) are smooth and sexy as fuck to shoot. you can feel the piston hitting the bolt, the bolt cycling and locking up, its orgasmic. And theyre pretty lightweight for battle rifles, are easy to clean, and function pretty well.
Theyre still innacurate, picky eaters, and expensive as all fuck compared to a G3 pattern or AR10 rifle, but muh bush war aesthetics
>>34572758
>>34572789
I have a hard time figuring out whats more aesthetic - the MP-5K with the Tri-lug or the full length, collapsing stock MP5A4.
I'm looking at getting a Zenith now as the prices are dropping and the full length Z-5 is aesthetic right out of the box
>>34573196
It's hot but I'd rather a MC51 and a full sized/K barrel HK21E
>>34575116
The price has been dropping, slllooowwwwlyyyy
They dropped after the election.
One issue is if demand gets too high they'll raise pricing, but if it gets too low - they'll drop it.
It will drop below 1500 mark my words
>>34584345
Integrated suppressors make my dick hard.
>>34592345
Aaaaaaay, just finished most of mine. Folding CNCwarrior hinge and an SB brace on a shortened buffer tube. Nice and snug and secure. Just need to add a rail to dust cover hinge and I'm ready to red dot up and get some hog.
>>34575149
It's pretty much the only pistol caliber carbine I truly want - I mean I wouldn't mind the glock mag Kel Tec folder if I found it cheap and I want the Mech tech carbine conversion for a 10mm Glock (not a full gun).
Also there is a newly available binary trigger pack for H&K (Franklin Armory) It's overpriced to hell and back, but there will be competing options eventually. It's no F/A but it's vastly superior to a bump fire stock
>>34575818
p90 was for rear echelon troops that would have to face an impending soviet paratrooper invasion. Infact the 5.7 round was specifically designed to penetrate soviet soft body armor.
All of that kind of didnt matter a few years after the p90 was fielded
>>34576350
>>34576412
That's a new manufacture rifle though, you would be dumb as fuck to buy it regardless.
>>34577661
Something like this but with a heavier profile barrel in either 16'-18' and a truly compact stock (maybe an MDT with a folder? - nah, perhaps something more minimalist)
>>34588149
So what makes the MP5K heavier? The folding stock? Is the barrel thicker?
