It's basically top of the line Ruskie air defence, hence the price tag to match.
>>
>>34566452

Its not just the launchers, its crew training, radar installations, command centers, spare parts, a stockpile of missiles to replace spent missile tubes and maintenance.

So a NATO country is going to receive the best russian SAM?

What the fuck. It is like USA selling F22's to Kazakhstan.

Export monkey version.
You see, Russians truly believe in free market and fair trading (also, they sold S300 to Greece).

Is there a link to a PDF somewhere? Would love to check this out for research - writing a modern air combat tabletop game and need as much info on SAMs and ground radars as possible

Babbys first digital multichannel radar system

>>
>>34566805
nice of them to throw in a mobile b-ball hoop with the rest of the package
>>
>>34568798
That's quite literally what the S300 is. Also, Russia was first ones to design and deploy effective hit to kill missiles.

To this day, only Russia and America have those in their inventory.
>>
>>34566452
rockets require precise machining for proper weight and stress distribution, and they have extremely specialized and complicated electronics in them.
Modern missiles are completely networked with each other.

the turks bought this so they can more easily shoot down russian planes?

>>34566452
You see it has kill switch to kill missile if it is used against Russia.
And Russia knows S-400 cannot surpass superior Chinese system that has no analog anywhere in the world so they sell their tech before other countries notice the discrepancy in defense.

2.5 billion into four vehicles = 625 million

625 million into five components (four missiles and the truck) = 125 million per component

for each missile specifically, split it up between the chassis, fuel system, rocket motor and warhead giving us $250,000 per part which is reasonable for a totally custom built system (figure that four people paid $62k/yr is $250,000)

$250,000 is obviously not meant to be an accurate estimate, but it goes to demonstrate how everything can be broken down into reasonable sums
>>
>>34572141
>125 million per component
>rocket motor and warhead giving us $250,000 per part
this math doesnt add up, not at all
>>
>>34572141
>four vehicles
Its four batteries, 4-8 TELs plus a control post and firecontrol radar each. Plus assorted reloading and maintinace vehicles, long range search, and early warning radars. Plus the technology transfers.
Not to mention the bribes.

They will never pay that debt. Which is why they need sams to do their best to defend themselves when their islands start to get taken away from them.
Besides, their debt is impossible to pay.

Nobody's pointed out the bit where two will be made by Turkey. This is more than just a simple sale, it's a technology transfer; they're teaching them to build them from the ground up, which means they don't have to buy more afterwards, and they're not starting from scratch to build their own, they have a modern platform to start from.
