Only point the gun down range. Keep your finger off the trigger unless you are pointed down range and ready to shoot. Watch some youtube videos on proper pistol grip. Don't be afraid of recoil. Squeeze the trigger slowly and in one clean motion. Always check a gun when you pick it up to make sure there's no clip and rack the slide a few times to make sure there's nothing in the chamber. Before firing with live ammunition, practice holding, dry firing it, and loading/unloading. If you're a female, don't wear a low cut shirt to the range.
