>>
>>34562669
Hi-Point actually should be a solid mid tier. Hi-Points are really good considering the price point. The only real reasons not to like them are as follows.

>Weight
Not an issue for home defense

>Cheaply made
yeah, but they are cheaply sold too

>Capacity
Only arguable complaint, but carries more than a revolver and that is all you can really ask for in a semi-auto as cheap as a Hi-Point

>Reliability
Really is not an issue. Just watch the feed lips on the magazines and you are golden.
>>
>>34563202
>mag disconnect
Literally removed in seconds.
>>bunch of other useless safeties
Correct me if I'm wrong, but how is a frame-mounted safety "a bunch of other useless safeties"? Surely you wouldn't be trying to talk about something you don't know anything about, right?
>>
>>34562399

>>34562399
The P7 meme gun is so rare it shouldn't even feature on the list. From the shootability it should be in mid-tier. The Walther P99 should at least be in high tier. Also what a shitty 2017 list is that? No, CZ P10C, no VP9, no PPQ, no P320, no APX... Are you even trying?

Top Tier: CZ-P10C, Walther PPQ, SIG P320, H&K P30, CZ Shadow 2
High Tier: H&K VP9, Beretta APX, CZ 75 SP-01
Medium Tier: SIG P226, Glocks, S&W M&P 2.0, Beretta M92F, Browning HP, Makarov, Springfield XD, Jericho 941
Shit Tier: Bersa Thunder, SCCY CPX, Remington R51, Remington RP, Rock Island 1911s, everything made by Taurus
>>
>>34562399
First of all, Shit Tier should be reserved specifically for guns that have reliability issues.

Pistols like the VP70, while having a horrendous trigger, is not a bad pistol. It's reliable and gets the job done. So right off the bat that should be knocked up to at least Low Tier.

Sig should be moved down to High. Beretta 92 should move up to High.
>>
>>34562644
Why would you ever buy the RIA 206 over the Rossi 461, according to this image? It's the same price but the Rossi can handle both .357 and .38, while the RIA can only handle .38?
>>
>>34563789

At that barrel length, there's no relevant ballistic difference between .38+P and .357. Also aesthetics and not being brazilshit.
>>
>>34562801

I had a TZ-75. No complaints. I'd say it shot more accurately (or fit my hand better?) than two SIG's I've had, two Glocks and a Springfield XD-s.
>>
>>34563789
>Why would you ever buy the RIA 206 over the Rossi 461, according to this image?
.357 out of a snubby barrel is one of the most wasteful applications of a cartridge in the entire realm of firearms. You may as well just shoot .38 and save a few pennies per round, because you're getting virtually identical performance out of a 2" barrel.
>>
>>34562668
The problem with /o/ is 50% of the posters are shitposting eurofags who either drive a shitbox, or don't even have a fucking car because they can't afford to drive one. It's a weird form of Stockholm Syndrome where they defend all the restrictions, and lack of ability to have anything nice(unless you're rich) because they know whey never will drive something nice. /k/ would be the same way if every gun were legal there, but required a €5,000 license, and even the cheapest guns cost thousands more.
>>
>>34564056
> shitposting eurofags who either drive a shitbox, or don't even have a fucking car because they can't afford to drive one
I'm pretty sure these are the mouth-breathers who turned /n/ into a perpetual cycling wankfest.
>>
>>34562603
This really isn't good content.
That aside, just 1-2ish years ago among tried to do exactly this (surprisingly less retardedly, though. They did stuff like make separate lists for different handgun sizes and there might have been a separate list for steel framed handguns as well)
In short, it never really definitively went anywhere because it's goddamn impossible and retarded to try to quantify something as subjective as taste in firearms, especially handguns as if you were listing chinese technicolor magic robot cartoons.
People just fought and fought, many different versions were made and it just seemed to peter out at some point. Perhaps all those involved became ashamed of it .
We can only hope.

Piss on it all you want but CZ-75B is easily the best metal full-sized service pistol ever created. I've handled many pistols, but I can truly trust a CZ no matter what happens. Hell, one of mine was in the house during a fire which burnt the entire floor down. It still is better than any glock I've handled. Also that happened 15 years ago. I got two and they are both older than 25 years.
>>
>>34565817
Oh I wasn't badmouthing it, they are pretty damn reliable once you break in the mags provided the mags aren't shit from the factory. Even then you can often fix them with some fiddling

Highpoints are shit, but they make up for that by being so cheap. And most of them run pretty damn well. I own several.

Say what you will, but I enjoy having a gun so cheap that I don't care about its well being. Put a round in the pipe, throw it behind the toilet and forget about it.

springfields are fucking garbage pistols. Their triggers actuate SO far to the rear that you need manlet hands to use them. And the grip safety is disgusting, it locks the slide closed unless you're gripping it perfectly.

I picked up my usp9 for $700 with a few boxes of ammo... Granted my lgs was having a 10% off "used" gun sale (thing was untouched with factory grease, some collector offloaded his whole HK lot)

I drove up the road to Gander Mountain before making the purchase because I knew they had a usp as well...
>$999 price tag
>finish wear all over
>cheeto finger evident grips
>turn 540 degrees and walk out

They ARE out there, just takes some luck i guess.

With the usp you will also find that 45-70 isn't just a cool big bore caliber, but also the price range for magazines.

i went to the range the other day with a hi point that i was given 10 months ago and my hi power (gen. 2. FN)

i went through about 400 rounds of 9mm. 2 FTFs for the hi power, zero for the hi point.

they both are fairly heavy, and both diminish recoil well, but the hi point is actually kind of incredible in this regard

it looks absolutely disgusting. the hi power is my favorite aesthetic handgun.

i used to use the hi power as my office defense gun but i just changed to my hi point, though...i just don't show it to anyone.

This; people say we were "nicer" and "calmer" and "more open-minded" but we were actually a bunch of fudds that all came in with our personal convictions on weapons accumulated from all over the internet and were only so "nice" because we were too new to have come to a consensus on anything as a group. You can get brand new standard model USPs for around $800 all day, every day.

He might get "free" T&E guns (which are likely carefully selected specimens prepared by the company), and he does have sponsorships and "10% off" coupon codes at various vendors, but Sootch will reliably do the same set of things on every gun "review:"
- Field strip
- Slow, tight shot of trigger pull, identifying phases of the trigger
- Trigger weight measurement with a method that is internally consistent with the rest of his content
- Grouping 5 shots 7 yards standing slowfire for pistols (he has a rifle test of similar nature, I'm too lazy to go look it up)
- Overview of manual of arms
- Firing segments
- Reading the official literature
- Parroting the company's sales points
- Expressing confidence that aforementioned sales points are true
- Maintaining a clean presentation that is easily digestible

It may be easier to just watch a Sootch review instead of seek out the company's sales literature in order to form an initial impression of a product. It is important to understand that his videos aren't really reviews, because he doesn't really have an opinion. It's also important to understand that he doesn't extensively test the guns to failure, or do the "torture test" thing. Occasionally, he will outright get something wrong or forget to include information. I still think the videos give you just slightly more information than you might get by going to a gun show and chatting with the sales rep for any given booth about one of their guns. The videos also have the benefit of being available for future watching if needed.

As someone with no right to bear arms, I think you should treat every gun as a precious tool of self defense. Do not take any of them for granted, just because they look ugly or aren't perfect.

God bless you America. Every last one of you.

It was b8 back then. Same as now. And there were dozens of tier macros all done by individual autistists.

>"If you wanna hear something about how tough these guns are. We had a USP45 come in a few months ago. It was sent to us by Federal Ammunition Company. They wanted us to replace anything needed and evaluate the weapon. To be honest all of the parts on the gun looked original except we could tell they had put newer recoil springs in it. The gun was date coded in the 90's and looked like it had been shot A LOT. So me and the other guys got curious an gave Federal a call asking what the round count was... We gave the lady the serial # and a few keyboard strokes later she says

>Are you guys sitting down?

>297,000+

>Then he says "yeah I can't remember the last 3 digits but I'll never forget the first three"

The USP (an mk23 as well) are on a complete cut of their own.
