Not to go full heretic, but for anything but a range toy, my thoights are that you'd be better served by a rifle in 5.56 or 7.62x39, just because of bullet selection.

Only 5.45 I'm aware of is Hornady varmint loads and surplus FMJ. Maybe someone else knows of better SD or hunting loads.

Not as cheap as the old 7n6 stuff, which was just retard cheap, but really affordable still.
Also there's been some talk about reviewing all the bullshit the ATF has been doing (922r and their whole "armor piercing" shenanigans in particular) so here's hoping that becomes reality.

AR/SR series isnt designed for piston, rifle is best terminal wise. AK/PKM/? Is meant at the caliber, closest to Russian. Not many countries are big enough to prototype firearms and make too many.
