Combatives is mind of something you always need to practice with a partner to master. Training by yourself gives you this "look how agile and Spider-Man-like I am" mentality that can put you at a disadvantage when you actually have to throw down and you're no longer Jason Statham.

That being said the IDF teaches to always fight dirty in hand to hand. Go for the balls/eyes/soft tissues and be ferocious. Close the distance to punches wont achieve a full arc and prepare to get hit a few times.
