Is this to see who passes out first from C02?
Can you guys suggest a site to buy gas masks from?
>>34561690

kinky.
rate my Gas masks, from left to right PMG, GP-4u and GP-5
Can anyone ID these?
Is it true that surp GP5s will give you lung cancer? Does anybody make reproduction filters?

My grandfather was in CBRN troops, he literally spent 1/5 of his life in one of these gas masks.
He died at the ripe old age of 53 from a heart attack.

Avon FM54

Thanks lad

Older surplus filters potentially contain Asbestos. So there is a potential to get Asbestosis and other asbestos related diseases.
Newer surplus filters potentially contain Chromium which is a known carcinogen.
GP5s use a standard 40mm filter thread so just buy a modern filter with that standard from a PPE supplier and you are good to go.

want/10
I only have a M10 M at the moment
>>34562123
Only the really old ones that are older than 1980
they stopped using asbestos a while ago so you won't have to worry
just buy some from ebay, the new production gp5 are good
>>34562517
There is no way to inhale the asbestos in filter unless it has catastrophically failed. Likewise chromium is not an issue unless the filter has also failed.
Soviet 40mm filters follow GOST 12.4.214-99 while NATO uses EN 148-1:2000. While both are 40mm the thread profile and pitch is not the same so you cannot expect them to properly seal if used in the other system.

wow, you're like the only other guy on this website who isn't a filter fudd
>>34564047
I actually use mine for work, not just cosplay. Just bought a new low-profile P100 mask yesterday to go under my welding hemet, used the money from selling a rebreather mask.
>tfw waiting on GP5 to come in
>>34564132
very cool
what is your opinion on the SGE 400/3 gas mask? It seems like the best out there for longer use.
Only have an M53 at the moment, with a couple GPCF50 filters.
>>34564238
Seems nice. Never used one.
I would want to know the weight for long term use. A hose kit to relocate the filter to the back will definetly help for long term wear.
Redpill me on the Israeli gas mask
>>34564788
It's good, there isn't anything wrong with it
>>34564788
good, seal seems a little weak (then again it might just not fit me and my stronk german skull) cant shoulder a rifle with it easily
Would an M-17 be good for tear gas RIOT gear?
If your mask isn't sound-powered phone compatible, why even bother?
>>34565145
No, since the filters are hard to replace, and they haven't manufactured M13 filters in at least 20 years. Get something in 40mm.
Tested an old British LAG MK1 with a Finnish 60mm filter on it earlier.
The surprising thing was all the rubber valves still work.

Cheek filter masks are awful but against tear gas it will still work if you get particulate filters, they can't expire as the CS powder is too big to fit through the filter, they will eventually clog, and at that point you really want a 40mm mask so you can actually replace the filters without wanting to tear your hair out.
Just bought a German m65 for my first gas mask.
Did I fuck up? It was only $20.
>>34565790
Its fine, did you get the canister with it?
>>34565820
Yes.
