Does anyone have any shtf stories about Katrina or any similar scenario they went through?
>>
>Katrina happened while I was home on R&R leave from Iraq
>in a later unit. one of my sgts was in a 82nd Division unit sent to clean up and rescue. he was an oreo(black on the outside white on the inside) and all he said about it was that there were a bunch of niggers acting like they tend to do.
>>
>>34550102
The interdictor livejournal is a good place to start if you don't know shit
>>
>>34550102
>surrounding leo agencies come down to help
>LEO staging area some rifle racks so people dont have to carry them
>outside agencies weapons get stolen in cop leo staging are
>order is to have all your weapons at all times and dont trust the NOPD corrupt scum.

The huge migration after to houston raised its crime so much.
>>
>>34550120

That they were.

>be uncle
>electrician
>gets paid a shitload of money to go down there to restore power
>gets shot at on more than 10 different occasions, all by niggers trying to loot/steal/riot
>Cops refused to get involved after the first few shootings, the workers pooled money together and bought a couple of rifles/shotguns
>those had to be used for "crowd control" several times.

He also did some work at the stadium and had no kind words about that situation.
>>
>>34550102
I still live on the Coast of Mississippi. I was 6 years old when Katrina hit. I actually had my birthday party the day before we evacuated. We had waterfront property with a fair bit of marsh/reeds between the water and our backyard, and I remember seeing that the water had come all the way up to the foot of our yard despite there being clear skys on the day we evacuated.

I, my mother, and brother drove to West Virginia and stayed there for a couple months. My dad is a doctor so he stayed in the hospital and continued working during the storm. He said that the massive AC units on the top of the hospital actually came off the roof and flew around. Supposedly because of a tornado or something during the storm, but idk. We came back and the first floor of our house was basically gone, the second had tremendous water damage. We were able to buy a house on high and dry land and I still live there today.

Interesting anecdotes:

>Casino barge crushing the construction site for the George Ohr museum.
>Nativity Catholic School in Biloxi was open the day after the storm for some fucking reason. (I didn't go there lol)
>There's still lots of dock/pier supports in the water with no deck above them. Pelicans and seagulls love to congregate there.
>Debris in the water was an issue for a long time.

Another funny thing is that after smaller hurricanes (not katrina) peoples piers would basically get ripped off of their supports and would take up a curvy/wavy form above their former foundations. They'd get all bent up.

The hospital my dad worked at was in downtown Biloxi, so he saw quite a few looting thugs, previously and newly homeless people who were desperate. He had some okay stories about them.
>>
>>34550301
>6 y/o when it hit
Fuck I am old
>>
>>34550330

Yea, no shit. I was in HS and remembered missing several days because the poor ass county couldn't afford gasoline for the buses because prices spiked due to supply issues. At one point I think some of the Atlanta merchants were charging 6-8 per gallon for it. We had some gouging laws passed after that shit. Oh yea, and those fucking refugees coming up here and never going back. We have two ex-FEMA trailers on our property we use for storage. Bought them at a surplus auction many years ago. Both were torn to shit on the inside.
>>
>>34550102
>Be me
>Survive Katrina's wrath
>One day as I am cleaning up a group of niggers appears
>They attack me and try to steal what little stuff I have left
>One pulls a knife and goes to stab me
>Right before the knife hits me, his head explodes and the sound of a gunshot rings out in the distance
>The same thing happens to the rest of the group
>Look around to find my saviour and Insee something move on to top the stadium off in the distance
>Look at it with my binoculars.
>See Chris Kyle set up on the roof and wave at him in thanks
>He waves back and we both go back to our business
>>

>>34550299
All these Katrina stories really twist my tits. I know I'm beating a dead horse here but why was the aftermath worse than the storm itself?
>>
>>34550102
Katrina was hard on me living in South Mississippi. I lived on a street with four gas stations so I had power on the next day, but I had to spend the rest of the time that I wasn't in school without internet.
>>
>>34550457
Niggers and shitty disaster management because why the fuck would the federal government do anything competently

It should have been a wake up call to bring back the Civil Defense but the obvious solution was more FEMA funding.
>>
I lived in a subdivision of Baton Rouge closer to New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina happened. I think I was like 13. I was about 45 mins away from New Orleans.

>Playing outside in the hurricane at the beginning because hurricanes every year lol
>Oh shit this is getting intense, this is a big one
>go inside
>power out whole day
>can hear people on the street I lived whooping and hollering and riding 4 wheelers and dual sports
>distinctly remember thinking it sounded like mad max
>Probably no danger, just bored teenagers because no power for a few days
>had to sleep with the door to the house open because no AC and it was like fucking August (I think?)
>Dad slept in a chair by the door with it open with a baseball bat by the chair

The best part? He owned a sawed off Remington pump action. Why the fuck he didn't just put that next to the chair is beyond me.
>>
>>34550593
is your dad a liberal cuck?
>>
>>34550593

Nope, very staunchly republican and conservative. Says things like "Look at all these democrats (black people) walking down the road SKEWEE BOY"
>>
>>34550641
then no idea, maybe he just didn't want to waste his shells on niggers

maybe because sleeping with a gun next to you on your porch is a good way to get your gun stolen
>>
>>34550457
>why was the aftermath worse than the storm itself?
government and state organizations didn't care to prepare for the disaster, people forget that the Mexican Army came and started to hand out aid

>Uncle was an EMT in GA
>Gets sent to the Superdome or whatever its called
>Constant fights break out all day every day
>Rival gang members trying to kill each other, ghetto people fighting over ghetto stuff
>People stealing anything they can from anyone they can
>Basketball Americans born and raised in the USA can barely speak
>Everyone stinks
>Piss and shit everywhere

If something fucked up happens I'd rather ride out the storm on my own than go to a stadium/FEMA camp/ etc. No way in hell.
>>
>>34550543
FEMA actually wasnt the problem

FEMA comes in after emergencies are declared and manages the logistics of the emergency, It will default decisions to local governments about where things need to go and who needs what and how to get it to them.

They were REALLY fucked over by the state and local governments in LA and NO and all they're corrupt democrat niggerish bullshit.
>>
I remember a black family moving up here from Louisiana. Turned out to be disgusting niggers. Wish they would've died in the Hurrikang.
>>
>live in Gretna
>evacuate to Texas with family
>live in Texas for a month
>get free MRE's
>go back home
>lots of people's shits fucked up, house only has minor wind damage
>blue tarp everywhere
>get to see some crazy stuff in some of the worse off neighborhoods.
It was weird driving down the street and seeing a house with a fucking shrimp boat through the side of it, or just cars flipped everywhere. There were boats everywhere. Also the disgusting fridge meme.

Frankly, I enjoyed the hurricane.
>>
>>34550102
Yes,but only if you count wildfires half a mile away as threat. Not too many know, here in North Cali fires are a serious threat.
>spotted it via binoculars, kept my eye on that sucker to keep an eye on the wind direction
>today the wind was being worse than normal, and resulted in maybe 2 buildings lost that day
>as it crept up to my water/pumphouse start to plan to escape
>run out, start the car and run anything I needed in there while keeping an eye on the fire
>oh shit.sudden gust of wind
>it's now blowing towards my house, see a few firetrucks come up the neighbors' driveways and some helis overhead
>watch them drop bucket after damn bucket of water on the fire
>one fireman advised me to keep watching and be ready to GTFO in less than 60 seconds
>fire dies down for half an hour,it's being a real bitch today I guess
>at the the end of the day the fire covered several miles and burned tens of acres
Now I kinda wanna be a volunteer firefighter after that.
>>
I was around 12 when it happend and maybe one of the first 500 people let back into the city. i dont remember much but it was really strange everything was fucked up and abandoned except the odd disheveled person youd see walking the street. i still live in new orleans and in alot of ways it never recovered
>>
>>34550717
>They were REALLY fucked over by the state and local governments in LA and NO and all they're corrupt democrat niggerish bullshit.
It was both FEMA and local governements who just sat on their waiting when weather services had told them weeks in advance
>>

>>34550775
yea i mean if you walk down my street right now you can still see the faint outline of where the rescue workers would spray that x on the wall after they searched the flooded house
>>
>>34550711

My uncle has told us many stories about the Superdome. Dead niggers, niggers having sex in the open, shitting in the open, violence being watched by everyone including cops and nobody stopping it, rapes, etc. Pungent smell. He even saw one nigger walking out of the stadium with one seat in each arm; the nigger had unbolted them and stole 'em.

http://stuffblackpeopledontlike.blogspot.com/2015/08/to-be-white-person-in-superdome-in-new.html

Of course, nobody reported on this, but every news outlet was talking about Kanye West (before he was really even that famous) saying that George Bush doesn't care about black people on TV. It was a convenient slide.
>>
>>34550796
idk why he would have bothered. everything in the superdome was more or less destroyed and has since been completely replaced
>>
>>34550796
Yeah that reminds me of a story he told me. Some older guy comes stumbling toward him, crying out in pain. He vomits all over, falls into my uncle's arms, dies, and evacuates his bowels on him.
>>
>>34550775
DONT DEAD
OPEN INSIDE
>>
>>34550775
Funny enough, they haven't cleaned up the debris caused by the fires from 3 years ago.But the worst fucking part? Logging is at a standstill for new trees and that has resulted in what my grandfather (who was a fire chief for 20 years) calling it "A fine show of Forestry Service mucking it all up". It's a layer of dead, dry branches and trees so a fire would just spread. Some of the burned areas from the fire in Weed still haven't recovered even after 3 years,so half the town is still a disaster area.
>>
>>34550796
Fucking niggers man. They truly are like animals
>>
>>34550804
yea its weird i lived in a neighborhood on a gold course and like thousands of trees snaped off in the middle and went flying in the air. i remember coming home a month after the storm and turning on the light in my room to find a branch thru my ceiling
>>
>>34550828
alot of the shit going on was hyped up to get fema and or other emergency response teams to take the situation more seriously and get their asses down there
>>
>>34550851
>lefties actually believe this
>>
>>34550833
Trees are no damn joke, that's for sure. I've seen houses on local news that had a burning tree land on their house followed by the rest of the fire. It was a sight to see,but the one thing I remember is when a roughly 80 year old tree fell on a freeway exit ramp. Was straight out of a movie it seemed like, cars wrecking into the ones behind them to avoid hitting the burning/mostly dead tree.
>>
>>34550866
it was strange. atleast for 6 months every other house had atleast one blue tarp on the room covering a hole just because they couldent get roofers to fix the shit fast enough
>>

/k/ansan here, I was born in '91 and was laughing my ass off at you guys. Here we're LUCKY to get 10mins of warning when a tornado is about to rape and murder your ass, while you fuckers get DAYS of warning time. Shit, if we could get info on where and when a tornado hit we could build bleachers for people to spectate on.
>>
>>34550709
>government and state organizations didn't care to prepare for the disaster

Despite being warned about every year since the 70s. Thats the real joke.

30 years. 0 prep. 0 accountability.
>>
>>34550887
Here they brought just told their buddies to come help fix the house and usually they'd do good. Gotta love how rural communities come together and save each others' asses, and this is in California of all places.
>>
>>34550897
oh yea dude. fuck tornados i refuse to live anywhere there is even the remotest possibility of one of those fucking things. they dont make guns big enough to kill one of those

What you should know:
>really was a WROL/ SHTF situation for several days
>authorities confiscated all firearms from everyone (even law-abiding citizens in the wealthier neighborhoods)
>most stories I've heard say the majority of the bodies compiled at hospitals/ morgue-type areas for collection/ disposal had bullet holes in them
>Bush federal government gets a bad rap for seeming indifferent; but, by all accounts, the local government (mayor Ray Nagin) was in a complete crisis mode and unable to be reasoned with or worked with
>my friend's dad is an engineer for Jefferson Parish. He and some others were riding around on a flatbed boat rescuing people and the like. He still doesn't want to show my friend the footage they took

I live there now. the entire city is fractured and parts of the city are abandoned. I can go into further detail with more specific questions if youd like
>>
>>34551074
heres the breakdown of black people in New Orleans. when they are cool and id actually say thats the vast majority of them they are some of the best, honest and most enjoyable people iv ever been around. but at the other end of the spectrum its fucking insane.

They really aren't that bad. Regarding the coast, and I'm not 100% certain why this is, the further west you go, the more of a nightmarish hellscape it becomes. I'm not referring to the people. It's just that it gets brighter. The glare gets worse to the point that it hurts your eyes to be outside. For whatever reason, this isn't an issue in Ocean Springs, and it isn't that bad in Biloxi.

Chimpouts are basically not a thing as far as I've seen. The 2 exceptions to this are scraping the coast and black spring break. Stay the fuck off highway 90 during both of these events. Otherwise, you may be inclined towards a tactical suicide.

Shooting's okay. There is no god damn fucking BLM land. Mchenry shooting range is fantastic and cheap, but it does have mediocre rules. The only indoor range in the area is Gun Ho. It's pretty good, and it even has a 100yd indoor rifle range, however, the rifle range is effectively a dark hallway. Expect to barely see your fucking target. The pistol range is great though. Probably the best option, as well as the most expensive, is Coast Rifle club. It's the best around, but it's a couple hundred dollars a year iirc.

Ocean Springs is really nice though. It's incredibly chic in some parts, but excessive liberalism isn't too much of an issue. The options for local food are famtastic there.

If you want fast food and decent shops, go to the promenade in diiberville. If you want expensive food, you may as well go to the casinos.

Also, there're often gun shows at the Colisseum.
>>
>>34550897
See the thing about hurricanes is that if you live in a certain area, they have a 100% chance of destroying everything you know and love. It's not like Tornadoes, where the path is somewhat random and you might be spared.

Sorry, but if you live below a certain elevation, you're fucked. Say bye to all of your possessions.
>>
>>34551120
To clarify on chimpouts:

Idek. I wasn't there for Katrina, and there have been no comparable disasters since. You'll be fine if you're on base.

I mean yeah but take a tornado and add a bunch of homeless niggers to it.
>>
>>34550953
Chimpouts are horrible. Im black and its fucking insane to watch niggers in groups.

>Be me in college
>Ferguson shit happening on TV in dining hall
>Group of nigs standing in line in front of me
>White guy walks by wearing nice clothes
>The group stares him down and stares throwing slurs at him under their breathe
>He walks away faster, head down

They have this fucked up mob mentality that goes through their minds like "No matter what little effort I put in for my education, no matter how lazy I was to get fired, no matter what crimes I did that fucked up my record, and no matter what drugs i may have done,or life choices I've made, Its always the white man's fault"
This mentality is something they do daily. A chimpout is their daily stupidity multiplied times millions with action put behind it. Its far past the planet of the apes. At least in planet of the apes the apes could communicate and be civilized in certain areas. This is like Dawn of the Dead levels of stupidity during emergencies.

I had a tornado hit my town in North Texas
>just graduated college
>living with the folks until I find a new job
>mom is a city planner and dad is a firefighter
>dad is a vietnam vet and doesn't talk about it
>neighborhood kinda went to shit
>used to be nice middle class area
>after 2008 people lost homes and jobs so a lot of white trash moved in
>beat up cars on lawns, aggressive dogs, and car robberies on the regular
>get early tornado warning
>Me and parents go to basement shelter

>4 junkies broke in and there was a bunch of needles and pipes everywhere
>dad had shotgun and I had a handgun
>dad shoots one of the junkies with birdshot
>doesn't die but is bleeding like a motherfucker
>one junkie is too high to compute
>dad grabs her by her hair and drags her out of the house
>she already looks dead
>dad drags her in the middle of the street
>he's madder than hell
>mom says she's wearing her jewelry
>literally red and can see his veins
>flips shotgun over and fucking golf club swings her head
>literally the worst sight I've ever seen
>junkie friends look in horror
>dad grabs her by her hair again and leaves her next to curb
>tells junkies to come and get their bitch
>Me and mom could not believe what we just saw
>later that day dad admits he stuck a knife in a 12 year olds throat and saw his best friend burn alive in a napalm strike

After that my parents moved to Waco after he retired, where I also got a new job. He talks to us about what happened in Vietnam after he killed that junkie, shit was fucked up

Jesus how long was it like that? I bet there was a fuck ton of water damage. I spent a few years working in insurance (Auto/Home) and holes in the ceiling are no fucking joke.

A little drip can end up causing thousands of dollars of damage, and big holes like a branch can cause are usually much, much worse, especially if you don't notice them right away.

FEMA's budget got raided by DHS and their preparedness function got moved to an office 1/15th in size.Director Joe Allbaugh saw the way things were going and quit. Michael Brown took over then lost a series of battles as FEMA was somewhat separate but only responsible for recovery. The Justice department's Office for Domestic Preparedness (150 employees) got folded into DHS where Chertoff later gave it the mission for disaster preparedness. It was more concerned with terrorism and expected to hand off natural disasters to what was left of FEMA. FEMA's leadership started quitting and Brown was planning on submitting his resignation after Labor day (September 5th). Chertoff didn't activate the National Response Plan until the day after landfall (August 29th). Emergency response teams did eventually get deployed but some (most, all?) were just shuffled around waiting for orders.

I read this so you didn't have to... https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/2005/12/23/browns-turf-wars-sapped-femas-strength/323fd421-78f3-44ce-a667-9c60c5473d86/?utm_term=.93cc7f8de91a

I didn't move to LA until 2009, but a lot of guys I work with have some crazy stories. One half coon-ass half Houma Indian guy I know stayed in NOLA for it. He tied his little kayak to the top of his roof and climbed up there with his dog and then rowed to the river in the aftermath. Some jackasses stole his kayak and he caught them, but he never told me what he did.

He then hitched a ride with a barge company and spent two weeks getting barges together before he got to Reserve and met up with some family there.

Can't vouch for the truth of lack thereof of this story, but it is what I was told by a former telecom exec that used to be my neighbor.
He said that during the immediate aftermath, the various wireless carriers had emergency crews in there to try to restore cellular service, but they immediately came under attack from feral jungle savages.
To remedy this situation, allegedy Dubya ordered in some special forces who took out more than 100 of these apes.
Could be bullshit, but sounds plausible. FWIW.

>Luckily there's an evac shelter nearby, thought I'd have to sleep on the ground
>Spend the night in one of the two gyms of the shelter
>Lots of cots for people

Next morning

>Hung over
>More cots come
>Expected to get LOTS more people
>Spend several hours setting up cots
>Have to evacuate Anzac that night
>Can see a huge wall of smoke in the direction of Fort Mac

>Who's to say the dindus in the video weren't actually looters?

That's the mentality of "I cant be sure its safe so shoot first and ask questions later"

In some cases it might have been applicable, but there were also larpers who went around shooting people just because they were "protecting the city."

I can understand people camping out at their property and shooting people actively looting, but people doing patrols and shooting anybody walking in a certain area because they "might have been looting in the area" with no real evidence is just retarded

Didn't blackwater get deployed to do that type of security?

>Blackwater secured a contract with the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Protective Service a week after the storm hit worth $33.3 million for the first four months. Completely uneventful. Just some occasional shootings.

So why are you to poor to relocate your citizens? Living under water seems like a bad idea. Do they take a submarine bus to work?
>>
>>34553566
Pretty simple. Large portions of the city are beneath sea level and would be swamp. We built walls around them called levees and installed pumps to keep the water out. The storm overtopped the levees, or some out right failed, flooding large portions of the city and keeping that water there longer than it would normally be. It doesn't really matter that the land is a tiny bit below sea level, when the storm surge was 25 feet.

One of the big problems was that they had a canal running through the middle of the city that was connected to the ocean. So all the water was pushed through that and that's where the levees broke. So they blocked that off, and built a giant Wall on the south eastern end of the city and put a gate on that so now there are two layers of protection at least

Politics, the blame game, corruption, and really bad planning.

Everybody likes to shit on FEMA for not showing up sooner. FEMA can't do shit until the local authorities request Federal aid. Once FEMA gets the call, their policy is to have boots on the ground within 72 hours. The governor of LA and the mayor of NO, both Dems, were playing political fuck-you games with the lives of their constituents. That's why meaningful Federal aid wasn't present for a week after.

The other part of the equation is horribly bad planning. The evac order went out, those who could, did. Those who couldn't were stuck there. Think about it- everybody leaves a city except those who are too poor to afford a car and the people who lost their licenses. What do you think is going to happen to that city, especially when Mother Nature comes along and knocks out all of the alarm systems?

I'm implying that it's a distinct possibility that lefty media or the groids themselves invented the narrative that they were making their way to an evac station not looting whitey. I am NOT absolving the shooters of the guilt of gunning down people on their way to evacuateif that is actually what happened (again, I doubt it). Better move would have been to have Jamal and his cuz sit on their hands, question their business, and escort/ drive them there or give them an alternate route if that is in fact where they were headed. There is nothing wrong with patrolling your community if the government refuses to. Civic pride isn't larping.

Even public services couldn't work because the apes were shooting at them too. Before anyone asks, no I ended up going into college instead, never did the contracting thing. Do what you will with this info.
>>
>>34553054
I was down south for the 2013 floods, but my house was high enough up that all I did was stay home from work a few days. Didn't even lose power like they said I would.

After that and the Ft McMurray fire, I made a "pet pack" that is ready to go at any time. It has basic supplies- litter, litter pan, a couple toys, some water bottles, brushes, clippers, wipes, bags, etc. My dog isn't alive any more, so it's just for my cat (but I could loan out dog-related bits to anyone who is lacking).

In an emergency, I can just grab it and the food, which will save me a lot of time and worry. I figure I'll be worried enough as is.
>>
>>34554505
Sorry to hear about your dog, but that's a very good idea. Like a bug-out bag for your pet(s) and nice of you to keep the dog stuff in case anyone else needs it. Pets was a big issue, some animals that people couldn't take with them ended up burning alive in the house since they couldn't get out. With winters that provide -40 basically every year, having a thin little pet door on the front door is not a viable option; your house would freeze from that one little square/rectangle that lacks insulation. I tried to get the cat in the truck, but it was ready to claw my arms off as soon as I was approaching it. Had to leave it behind. I hear it's still alive and family is taking care of it. Good thing it's such an outdoor cat; managed to fend for itself for quite some time.

Some people were at work when the mandatory evacuation happened, which means they couldn't even get home to grab ANYTHING, and some of those individuals lost everything. I've seen the footage; nothing left but the hole where the basement used to be. Eerie... funny thing though; I'm kind of into zombie survival stuff and years ago realized that fridges would be packed with nothing but rot after a while so survivors would learn to avoid them at all cost because opening them would be to invite a wave of stink. Well, turns out that's what happened to people's fridges and deep freezes while away, so I hear they were taped up and sent to the dump en masse without so much as having a look inside. As for animals that were stuck in the house and DIDN'T burn alive, I don't know, I hear some cops or firemen went to buildings of pet owners who called and went in to get the animals or something like that. Oh yeah, the SPCA, I wonder what happened there... did they have a way to transport all those animals, or were they basically left to slowly starve? Damn... rough stuff...

Either that or they moved or where originally from there. What's with that? It's either the local flavor up North here or its some yahoo Hauling ass to Florida to get away from the fuzz.

The only fatality I had heard of was in a vehicular accident that had nothing to do with the fire itself, merely taking place around the same time. Very sad however; two teenage girls killed, both less than 18 years old as I recall. Tragic waste of life... I also recall when I was at the pub that it was a kid's 18th birthday. May 3, 2016, so I guess he's 19 now. Anyways, he was drinking Bud Light, he had reached the legal age of drinking in Alberta, and I guess was evacuated from home the very next night if he's from the Anzac area.

The entire situation was shady. He was a suspected insurgent but also injured so him and some IA's come onto our out post to see what we could do. It was my job to watch him and he broke free from his restraints and I proceeded to beat the fuck out of him. So he wasn't completely dead by the time the IA's were going to get him loaded up to a hospital. GCS of 6 probably. I more than likely saved him from torture sessions with the IP's. Later it came out that he was injured from being to close to an IED (that he planted) detonation. So yeah go MURKUH

If don't live in an apartment start a small water collecting process. Collect rainwater in bigass barrels then purify it when you need it. Water will be the first thing you'll need when SHTF, when city water goes off you wont get it anywhere else besides bottles and rain.

Be prepared to board up your house if a hurricane starts to form on either of our coasts. Have some plywood ready to board up your windows. If a hurricane is too strong be prepared to bug out with your vehicle. Bring your guns, and bring food (rice, MRE's, toiletries, and ammo). Learn basic bushcraft, innawoods isn't really a viable option for the majority of FL, but have a big knife, an axe and know how to start a fire.

Maybe buy a scattergat and hoard buckshot too.

Also buy a ham radio and join our community. You can join an AmRONN net and have a trustworthy group of people to rely on in your vicinity when it all goes down. This will require lots of research tho, but it's really worthwhile.

Welp, I guess I have one.

Police of the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo, where I live, decides to go on strike.

First day, not much happens. Second day at nightime you can hear in the distance people screaming 'pega ladrão' ('catch thief') and overrall mess and confusion because dindus are using the policeless night to rob people.

Third day onwards, whole city is dead silent, nobody leaves their homes, gunshots can be heard with some frequency (we all hope they're coming from security guards and the like, because most Brazilians don't own guns (thanks, govt, for disarming us!)) and at some point even the relatively safe area where I live gets it's share of thugs doing 'arrastão' (look it up). Mercifully by that point some cars of the Força Nacional where parked by and some unamused police officers spooked them away with SMGs while workers from the nearby supermarket rushed inside.

That same day the army gets called in, and you can hear people applauding them from their balconies, finally breaking the silence of the last few days.

I mostly stayed in when shit got really bad so no personal tales from this. The situation improved slowly until the police was eventually brought back into service.

Water purifier? Short-term solution to a long-term problem, dude. Learn to make a water filter with a plastic bottle, a leaf, and variously-sized rocks. What can also work in a pinch is a shirt or two. That's just filtering though. For actual purifying, make a fire and boil the water. Your purifier should be a pot either carried in or strapped to your pack. Again, in a pinch, you might be able to use tin cans like what food comes in. I'm skeptical about aluminium cans; might be chemicals or something in that that would release when heated or something, I don't know, but tin cans ought to be ok. Can't hold much water in them though. Also useful to have pliers so you can pull bullets from cartridges you don't need; use/keep the powder. Either use it in ammo you DO need (I advise only using it in manually-operated designs) or create a makeshift grenade with it somehow. I have roughly fist-sized or i guess smaller than fist-sized glass jars for jalapeno slices. Jab a hole in the top for a wick and it could work as a grenade, except for the fact it'd probably break on impact with a hard surface. Wrap it in cloth perhaps? Would the shards still serve as sharpnel with a few layers of cloth in the way?

That's why we use the internet while we have it, anon. I understand the internet is for porn, but we must look BEYOND the porn to gain knowledge and intelligence. Don't simply prep by hoarding and gathering; prep your MIND. Don't think in surviving for 2 days or a week or a month. Think of how to survive for a LIFETIME! I've even given thought to the fact that in a total collapse, smokeless powder would be gone probably for good within our lifetime. It will be gone and won't resurface until humanity gets its shit together and builds civilization anew, finding books and learning how things were to bring things back to how we live now in the most technologically advanced time our species has ever known. This could take generations. We will probably be long gone before humanity even gets electricity back. (fuel will disappear; generators won't last long)

So without smokeless powder, it would revert to black powder and flintlock or matchlock muskets for those lucky enough to know how to make black powder (I know roughly how, the only lacking part is I would have to make saltpetre. I roughly know the process, but never put the theory into practice, as it were). For those who DON'T know how to make black powder and don't know anyone who DOES, then ranged engagements would have to be with bow and arrow or some other such ancient technology. Perhaps crossbow for individuals who are decent at woodwork since for anyone not familiar with bows, it's FAR easier to effectively use a crossbow than an actual bow which requires years of practice to git gud.

I've got a theory on how to reload spent primers, but it would take a lot of serious experimentation, and I might never figure out how to properly do it.

Water has a very high specific heat.

In order to boil water, you must generate heat, which means expending fuel.

Fuel is a precious resource in the event of an emergency.

Owing to this, I feel that options like household bleach, or sterilization via solar UV radiation (otherwise known as SODIS) would be a superior option.

... it's called 'wood', my dude. I assure you, it's flammable and pretty common. Creates a good bit of heat. As for SODIS, I'll have to look into it, but I'd rather just boil via wood heat. It's simple and easy if you know how. Gotta get myself a flint and steel, but at the same time I also know how to make fire starters using just bits of wood and string.
>>
>>34556946
looks like you are well on your way to becoming self sufficient... Have you started collecting piss in bottles as precursor material to make saltpeter yet?
>>
>>34557172

In major cities this could be a problem. After all the trees get cut down, people start burning everything flammable for fuel because fuck traveling 5 miles outside the city to get wood.
>>
>>34557172
Spoilers: Wood is going to be a valuable, jealously guarded commodity in any place where humans exist in large quantities.

If you look at a map of human population density and a map of forest density, you'll see a strong, negative correlation.

I am not actively working towards learning to make saltpetre, but I will attempt to put it in practice someday. Urine is indeed a part of it, as is feces, and some natural decomposition of sorts is also required. Ultimately once the waste starts to grow crystalline bits, I think you must then take all the waste, boil it in water, filter it to separate the liquid from the solid, and then the process from there is very similar to making sea salt from sea water. Boil, boil, boil, boil, let it get thicker and thicker and thicker and thicker, until there's only a little bit of VERY thick liquid left. Then, put it in a big flat pan and let the Sun do the rest so you don't risk burning the saltpetre or seasalt or whatever.

I think the mixture is something like 7 parts charcoal (can make that by basically 'cooking' wood in a metal container with a few holes at the top to prevent an explosion) and 3 parts saltpetre. I know, sulphur, but I hear that ingredient is optional. Black powder with sulphur is likely superior than that without, but I hear it's ultimately not completely necessary. If it is, then all the time I would put towards making black powder would be a waste, and I will have to construct a crossbow or become good with bow and arrow.

Part of preparation is location.

Never buy a home in a potential storm surge area. Surge cannot be stopped.

Consult historic records of flooding. No flooding, ever, is acceptable.

Live with well-armed, good white folks and get to know your neighbors. Survival is a TEAM sport.

Niggers should not know you. Do not socialise with any living near you unless unavoidable or there are epic extenuating circumstances.

Hide what you own if it's desirable. No one outside my close group of bros have been inside my home or shops since I bought/built them. What isn't thought of isn't molested.

Your property should be a passive deterrent to visitors. I have two driveways, one always chained. The area between the rest of my property and any road is either heavily ditched, wooded or both and will stay that way to deter vehicles.

If SHTF I'll ditch the driveways. People can move obstacles but filling ditches is work and it's slow.

Be equipped to live in your woods etc if you have them. Houses draw niggers/wiggers/spiggers and are death traps. Firepower and mobility will let you end n/w/sp/iggers from a distance.

Multiple outbuildings protect against total loss by fire and can be used for cover.

Shipping containers make nice shop and storage space. Know what they are good for and study military and industrial container shops. They are delightfully storm resistant. Ensure your buildings and containers have generous firebreaks around them. Containers don't burn unless the wood floor is ignited, but their walls transmit heat quickly so an external fire could ruin the contents. (Bunkerfaggots should build legit shelters out of something else.)

But no, he needed to feel the force of the gun hitting her head, not just the recoil and satisfaction of killing her but the actual jerk of that shotgun connecting to her bare skull.

I should have screencapped the Snowpockalypse thread. It was golden. Men fighting over empty jerry cans that neither one owned *after* the gas station announced it was out of gas, multi-nigger pileups galore, stuff like that.

a 20lb bag of rice costs like $9 and has 200 servings in it
at ~1600 calories a day of rice you're talking 20 days of food. for 9 fucking dollars. Keeps for like 2 years and ironically you are getting hosed at that price; rice can be bought by the literal metric ton for about ~$600

if you live in florida and don't have at least a month's worth of food, propane or a generator, and potable water you're a fucking retard or a fucking nigger.

I literally prefer to deal with hispanics than quebecois frogs
>mfw i had a canadian woman ask if I spoke french while working
>mfw why in the flying fuck would I speak french
>mfw the only people who speak french in florida are canadians and niggers

they can't fucking drive either

Now hispanics
>¿spek spanish?
>no
>ok ok ::thumbs up::
>proceed to sell them shit through pointing, hand signs and drawing shit
or
>proceed to talk to little elion the 7 year old who speaks english and have him relay the info to his padre
>always super nice
Florida spics have money to fly here in a plane or came from cuba. Good people for the most part. And they go back

it's a first hand account of how a guy used various underhanded techniques to protect his shit from niggers and freely move around New Orleans and how his survival preps worked for him.

main thing
>take "polo shirt and industrial clipboard" to squad level
White basic bitch F150 crew cab with a magnetic sticker on the door for placeholder industries electrical repair something something
PPE and maintaining the demeanor of a pissed off, hung over, chain smoking done with this shit contractor who has done _______ 54 times today and is going to _______ 55.

The irony is that florida is essentially a functional apartheid state
>jews all live in a few pockets
>blacks live in their ghettos
>hispanics live in shitty neighborhoods
>whites live in suburbs randomly interspersed between the massive sea of black and hispanic slums (formerly white neighborhoods from the 40's-60's that had niggers move into them and all the whites move out)
no one is dumb enough to live in an area that isn't racially homogeneous and everyone is armed so race relations are ironically good. Also the police beat the fucking shit out of our niggers so hard in the miami riots that we haven't had a BLM or nigger riot problem for several decades. Ironic that the State Trayvon Martin Kept it real and it went wrong in had no liquor stores looted in his name.
