Do you use a horizontal or vertical magazine pouch?

I am a noguns but I would be to paranoid that the clip is going to fall if I carry it horizontally like that.

The lateral pouch is not up to snuff in terms of retention and speed and it seems like it would actually add to the width of the waist profile when observed from obtuse angles or while rotating at the hips.
