I tell ya, I won't call it a fad, but these "centerfire" cartridge revolvers ain't for me just yet.

Nope, I reckon I'll keep a-carryin' my Whitneyville. My daddy bought it soon after I's born when we's headed out from Alabama to Texas. He got shot by a gambler in New Orleans, though. Reckon until I joined the war effort it hadn't been shot two dozen times.

Carries a rifle charge, a heavy .44 ball, and a hell of a wallop. Capable out to a 100 yards. I've killed Yankees, horses, deer, cattle, Indians from three tribes and a whore that turned out to be hiding a dick with it.

I back her up with a New Model Pocket Remington.

What're y'all boys carrying?

Got me one of those weird revolver-rifle things from my 'Pa, said he stole it from a Union soldier. It's fairly nice, but those new lever-action whooseywhatsits outshoot me every time.
What's with these damned leverguns anyway? They fire this underpowered round with little consistency and you can't even reload the casings. With a cap-and-ball, you ain't wasting dimes on dimes paying for brass you use once.

Man these PSA Ar-15 kits are cheap as fuck right now, only $330 for a whole kit!

Decent, were you able to keep the ability to go back to Cap and Ball if this cartridge fanangle blows over?

>>34539617
What in tarnation.
>>
>>34539511
>carrying a walkernade
>not liking whores that turn out to be hiding dicks
You won't be so picky when that hand cannon inevitably blows up and you have to pay hookers to jerk you off.
>>
>>34539635
It's not blowin over. It's the future.

>>34539655

Pinfire is open source and everyone is standardizing to it in Europe, gtfo colt fanboy

Did you get a new cylinder made of stronger shit?

You're stuck in the past, cartridges are the future.

Picked up this Henry a few years back, thing will out shoot any of your guns, it's more reliable, and I can load 15 .44 rounds in the time it takes you to load just one of your chambers.
>>
>>34539681
Are we still talking anachronistically here?

If not, no. It's made like that. Not an actual conversion.
>>
>>34539617
What in the hell? That's one strange rifle you's got there.
>>
>>34539616
Can you use normal caps and powder in the shells, or do they take a special type?
>>
>>34539705
Normal .45 Colt

>not getting the new Winchester in .44-40

Outshoots any of those .44 rimfires by a mile.

Ya don't cut usin' the blade, do ya partner?

>You don't cut usin' the blade, do ya
Genuinely the best laugh I've had gor the better part of the decade.
>>
>>34539718
Not ammunition, friend. He means to ask if you can use regular black and caps from cap-and-ball guns for the primers and powder.
>>
Hey /k/ I'm moving out to California to try and get some gold, what's a good wagon gun?
>>
>>34539967
>wagon gun
>>
>>34539967
A nice muzzle-load or brass-case coacher will serve you well.
>>
>>34539617

I got the joke.

>>34539616

Heh. Good luck taking a charging Indian a-horseback with that.

>>34539650

Heh, overcharging it every time'll do it, I only carry 3/4 charge unless I expect trouble.

>>34539691

I do own a Henry, but it ain't one of these fancy centerfire guns. Damn centerfire cartridges is too 'spensive. I buy .44 RF for 10 cents a box when the boys in blue renew their stores.
>>
>>34539967

Coach gun with a good rifle for game and further Indians. Handgun is for your choice.

If you're flush, you could always see about a little cannon, I've been scouting for the Army off and on for years, you ain't never seen them red niggers run like they do from a cannon or a gatling.
>>
>>34540015
>Paying a haypenny per round just to shoot
Wish I'd have kept going west to California like these early miners did, I'd be rich enough to afford a repeating lever-action.
Yet I'm here, paying a haypenny per full cylinder to shoot and making a bargain out of a revolver rifle.
>>
>>34540070

Hey, if it shoots, it shoots.

Maybe pick up a trade? I ride a barebones saddle and still pay out the ass anytime I need a goddamn thing done, sheisty bastard charges out the ass for boot and holster work too.

I wish I'd picked up a town trade. Between scouting, militia work and keeping my own spread up, I've made easier money. Too much rain, too much wind and too little safety.
>>
>>34540105
Not worth letting the farm go to shit. Corn and soybean crop'll bring in enough money to feed me, my wife and the kids so why risk it?
>>
>>34540125
Bah, why farm dirt when you can trade in buffalo? Why, there are so many roaming the plains, I bet you could shoot ten thousand a day and not even make a dent in their herds!

I've had me this 'ere pin fire since I shot a surrendering grey fer it. Also tintype related it's the pinfire and the U.S armies latest rifle.
>>
>>34540125

If you're only dirt farming, you're wrong. There's so many damn cattle and horses a-roamin' that it's an idiot's choice to do any less.
>>
>>34539958
Yep I have a ton of caps that I'd love to put to good use, but I can't justify buying another gun and fancy new ammo.

Yall are a bunch of faggots

Now, clearly ain't nobody here made of wood nor is anybody here a cigarette.

Kids these days.

Stop bein' a fudd, cartridges are more expensive on account of the difficulty of producing them. The new colt single action won't be beat for at least 25 years, by my reckoning.

Pic related, my EDC. I'll be laughin' mighty hard when your gun chainfires.

This is why in a 150 years Colt will be bankrupt and won't be making no more revolvers friend. You can't beat a Smith with that Colt

As a Southern gentleman, I tip my hat to the great Brazilian Empire, one of the few countries with the common sense to keep the noble, Christian practice of slavery alive.

Why, without it, what is to keep a Negro from reverting back to his previous, barbarous state hardly different than a chimpanzee. Slavery elevates the Negro from barbarian heathen, introduces him to the Good Word of the Lord, and saves his everlasting soul.

Indeed, I do declare that great things will come of Brazil and her magnanimous Emperor Pedro II! A pearl of the Southern Americas, and a ruler who values noble, forward-thinking ideals such as political stability and respect for civil rights, while still respecting the age-old natural order of people.

Surely they will shortly be a world power to rival Britain, or even perhaps France. They are most certainly a model to inspire us!
