Buying two or more handguns from the same FFL within 5 consecutive business days = the ATF and your local CLEO get your serial numbers. They would not get this information from a normal purchase. In southern border states, this rule applies to buying multiple semi-auto rifles too, if they are in a caliber greater than .22 and have detachable magazines. It's more work for your FFL, although they don't always inform you that they are doing more work on your behalf and submitting your purchase info directly to the ATF for these sales.

Whattabout if someone buys a pistol and a long arm within 5 consecutive business days?
>>
>>34528048
You should be able to answer that with the information provided in the OP.
>>
>>34527965

so? I've never done that, because my firearm purchases are well thought out and for strictly legal applications.

they do that to log potential drug dealers (spics)

I am a law abiding (white) citizen.

and couldn't you just buy from a different LGS if you're gonna buy within 5 business days?

I'm not seeing your point, OP

are they somehow violating our rights by logging the information of guns bought in concession next to the border? you know, where our white children are particularly at risk of human trafficking and the influx of illegals is a disease that can only be cured with white hot lead?
>>
yeah, that's what I thought, bitch.
>>
>>34528187
>are they somehow violating our rights
Why yes, they are. Gun registries have been ruled unconstitutional in the past. For example,
https://www.cadc.uscourts.gov/internet/opinions.nsf/46AD1BE68518069B85257EC400534ABB/$file/14-7071-1573768.pdf

>>34528221
What the hell is wrong with you?
>>
I wish I had enough money to make this many transactions.

Honestly I don't like ATF knowing about my shit but in reality this doesn't affect my at all, especially since we have pistol registration in my state already.
>>
>>34528229
It's not a gun registry.

It's a registry of particular type of transactions. That's how they get around doing this.

Also if a firearm was ever sold through an FFL ATF can perform a trace to get back to that FFL.
>>
>>34528229

well that's very good of you to bring this to the forefront.

luckily for me, I haven't been raped by the horrid patriarchal gubment for buying more guns in a workweek than was constitutionally allowed.

look dude... the government doesn't do shit when you buy a shitton of guns in succession. they use the info to charge you with extra crimes when you use those guns to kidnap and sell little white girls.

yes, it's less than ideal.

yes, it works to give illegal chihuahuas lifetime sentences (when really they should be executed for treason) for coming to our land and breaking our laws.

take it or leave it, it hurts the bad guys (brown people)
>>
>>34528268
>>Also if a firearm was ever sold through an FFL ATF can perform a trace to get back to that FFL.
They can perform the trace on request if they have the gun to trace (i.e., a gun that was recovered from a crime scene), but they don't receive information related to individual purchasers and what each person is buying when guns are sold from an FFL.

you cannot be a /k/ommando because you obviously do not have enough rusty shackleford in you.

>>
>>34528388
I still can't figure out what you're trying to argue, except trying to make people who post on /k/ look like racist authoritarians. If you're genuine, you appear to be saying that you don't mind giving the government all your personal information because you have nothing to hide? That's only going to last as long as the current administration. Imagine an ATF with Hillary Clinton in charge. You would be put in a database and fucked anally by the IRS every single year until you ended up in prison or committed suicide.

Hypothetical situation #1: The police have misidentified you as a suspect in some crime. When they check your file, they find that you are a suspected illicit arms dealer, so instead of knocking on your door in broad daylight, they raid your house late at night, killing your dog and dragging you naked from your bed.

It's super easy to identify the shitposter from the constant paragraph breaks, the no capitalization and no punctuation. All of his posts are aggressively bootlicking. We've probably got a Canadian or a German on our hands. Stop giving him (You)'s, folks.

You can tell it's nu-/pol/ by the reddit spacing. Have a protip, dumbass; It doesn't matter if you're a nigger, a faggot, mentally ill dick-chopper, or white, the government wants to take your guns.
Allowing the government to know you own guns is a bad thing. Supporting the idea of the government knowing you own guns means you're a statist cocksucker. Fuck off and die. The government has no right to know what I purchase with my own money, and what OP posted is an example of the ATF and therefore the federal government overstepping it's boundaries as administrators and attempting to become rulers.
>>
>>34527965

They get the info - sometimes they'll make visits, but it's rare. Keep in mind that ATF is underfunded big league (thank god!) so they can't look at everything. I know some guys have gotten visits for buying 5+ SNS pistols at one time. Collectors of those guns, ironically. I've bought two handguns at the same time a few times over the years; never received a visit.

Wouldn't be a problem if I did; I'm not a splerg and know how to talk to people. However, at times, have I avoided buying two at once because of the rule? Sure. I know it's extra BS for the FFL and I'm mindful of that, because extra BS = more money spent. They make more on the sales, sure, but that's augmented by the time spent doing extra work.

>>34528048

Not a problem. It's two pistols only. In fact, I don't think stripped lowers are included in that since those are "FIREARMS" (there's a box to check indicating type of firearm on the dealer's portion of 4473).

>>34528187

SHALL NOT INFRINGE, and also it's government spending money for fee fees. The pros that are reselling guns are buying them from private sales, using straw buyers, or if buying themselves are going to multiple places and spacing out their purchases. It's just extra BS because people are scared.

CLEO gets the info to see if the buyer is on a gang/drug/crime radar. Say if Maria Lopez comes into Guns Inc and buys four Hi Point C9's at one time, CLEO finds out Ms. Lopez did so and discover her boyfriend is Mr. Poncho "Pot Pusher" Perez and he runs a gang called The Three Amigos. All of these people have records, and then they'll pull 'em over for something, search the car, and chances are they'll find one of the Hi Points. All of a sudden you got Poncho on an illegal gun possession and the girlfriend for straw purchasing. You get the girlfriend to turn on everyone by offering to make her charges go away and you end up sending a gang of spics to jail for years.

I doubt very few LGS' do that. If they suspect someone's bought within the period, they may go back in their books to look, but I don't know of anyone that maintains a list. But perhaps it's because I live in a low population area and the owners pretty much know all of the regulars by name and face.

I know of five massive chains that do it. Also the whole, "don't tell me you did so I can do less paperwork" will get you raped during an at audit. Like lose your ffl raped because of the number of infractions.
>>
>>34528578
>I don't think stripped lowers are included in that since those are "FIREARMS" (there's a box to check indicating type of firearm on the dealer's portion of 4473).
I was told that you have to indicate to the dealer what you intend to do with it.

>and also it's government spending money for fee fees.
Correction: *It's the government spending *****OUR***** money for fee fees. They reach into our pocket books every year in the middle of April and where does that money get spent? On a pseudo-police force that will no-knock raid you in the middle of the night and dig every dog you've ever owned from the grave just to shoot it in the head. It amazes me that people don't get more outraged when they look at even a fraction of the shit that the ATF does.
>>
>>34528662

Sure but it's like any other business; sometimes you do stupid shit. My LGS just replaced their longtime bookkeeper. Nobody is really saying why but I have a feeling it was how she operated the bound books.

Though I can see the major players doing it. I was an ASM at a major retailer once upon a time and know we did all kinds of shit primarily for liability reasons.

>>34528665

I've never been asked, but I've never bought multiple lowers at one time either. Guess that's like the question I had on my passport application about "do you intend on going to a specific country anytime soon".
>>
>>34528578
Wasnt it reported that they dont even have a large single source digital archive of all the information gathered from FFL transactions? Like they literally just have mountains of boxes with paperwork?
