air and space museum has a HE 219. It is in pieces at the moment. thought it should be able to fly. given that it was flying in service to the USA after the the war.

bombers hit strategic targets at night because it is harder to see them in an early radar/visual targeting era.

single man fighters with out radar have a hard time finding targets. so you make a larger airplane with 2/3 people and a crude radar. allowing them to more easily spot the bombers and any enemy aircraft.
