So when can we have ship camouflage back?
>>34520047
You know that they are painted in black to hide the exaust port right?
>>34520047
there is a reason ships don't use camouflage pattern, you fuck.
>>34520075
Yeah it's impractical but it's so fucking cool. If the ship is going to cost 2 billion you can afford to splash a million on some paint
>>34520079
>splash a million on some paint
You wanna know how i know youve never done any kind of manual work in your life before?
Also ship camouflage is quite an old concept from when you would rely mainly on visuals to seek out an enemy warship. Thats pretty much null and void nowadays.
hngggh

>So when can we have ship camouflage back?
Never. Naval combat now happens by looking at your target with a radar beam, not your eyeballs.
>b-b-b-b--b-b-b-b-b--b-bbut it looks cool
Looking cool is not a part of warfare.
>>34520047
Navy fag here,
The amount of the ship that gets repainted is around 20%-30% a year for a small boy and deck isn't smart enough to not eat paint let alone keep camo patterns.
Sweden here.
I don't know what you're talking about.
>Stealth ship
>Camo paint
Invisible to both radar and eye.
>>34524231
This is what it looks like in combat-mode with most of the faggy stealth-compromising shit on it removed btw
But the more we keep our Seamen busy painting the ships the less time they'll have to stick their dicks places they shouldn't be.

All I see is ocean, where is das boot?
>>34524291
Look at this beautiful picture of the ocean
>>34524231
>>34524255
The Visby class really is top notch.
>>34520047
Why not go back to the Nelson chequer instead? It's objectively the most aesthetic way to paint a ship and targeting is done by radar these days anyways.
>>34524550
Because we can't beat the deckhands hard enough to remember the patterns anymore.
>>34524231
Sweden isn't the only one with camo on boats
>>34522478
>looking cool is not part of warfare
Vietnam and desert storm disagree with you /k/ommrade
>>34522478
>Looking cool is not a part of warfare.
It's a big part of warfare
Having your soldiers feel cool is a big part of a successful force.
IMO, ships should get some real cool shit painted on them to get everyone hyped.
>>34520075
you are stupid and your posts are stupid.
>>34520821
Was Outer Haven (MGS4) based on that ship?
>>34526207
I thought that guy in the front's ass crack was showing.
>>34522478
That's probably the dumbest gayest thing I've ever heard.
Like half of war is looking cool.
>>34520047
when it magically becomes useful...
it won't.
>>34520072
only a little bit underrated - but mostly useless, because star wars is for retarded idiots.
>TFW you can't never be this stealthy
To escape detection by Japanese aircraft (which the minesweeper did not have the armament to defend effectively against), the ship was heavily camouflaged with jungle foliage, giving the impression of a small island.[6][7] Personnel cut down trees and branches from nearby islands, and arranged the cuttings to form a jungle canopy covering as much of the ship as possible.[7] Any hull still exposed was painted to resemble rocks and cliffs.[7] To further the illusion, the ship would remain close to shore, anchored and immobile during daylight, and only sail at night.
