It's not THAT ugly, right?

>>34519255
Everything looks better without rails.
>>
>>34519238
The rail is fine. The price these guns go for is not.
>>
>>34519330
What do they go for now?
>>
>>34519330
$549 isn't a terrible price for a good steel framed CZ-75 clone.

Though, I only paid 278 for mine, and it doesn't have rails.
>>
>>34519334
Isn't it like $550 or $600? I wouldn't pay more than $450 for one.
>>
>>34519347
Is it good, though? My understanding is that it's basically the same as a CZ 75 except it's not drop safe and we know nothing about how well they're made. Other guns made in Israel seem to be hit or miss.
>>
>>34519352
>not drop safe
Wut
>>
>>34519352
>not drop safe
bullshit. My Gen1 IMI model has a FPB.
>>
>>34519352
>basically the same as a CZ 75
They're similar, but the frame on the jericho is heavier, which actually makes it an even nicer range toy. There are more than a few differences in how things are pinned or held in place.
>>
>>34519355
>>34519356
I thought they didn't have a firing pin block. My bad.

Jerichos have Firing Pin Blocks, they are drop safe.
It's a CZ-75 Pre-B derived design, but it is not basically the same as a CZ-75.
It is, however, almost identical, aside from the slanted nose, to the steel small-frame Tanfoglio Force (sold in the US as the EAA Witness). IMI/IWI infact licenses that design from Tanfoglio, and a substantial number of Jericho parts are originally sourced from Tanfoglio - you can even see how the "Made in Israel" is stamped into the frame differently from all of the other frame markings, which I highly suspect are done by Tanfoglio before the frame is finished by IWI - pic related on my KBI slide safety Jericho

By the way, the EAA Witness 9mm small frame sells in the US just north of $300. I like the Jericho, I really do, but the only real significant difference between it and the Witness that I can point to right now is that it has a Polygonal rifled barrel vs Tanfo's conventional rifling. Not a $250 difference by any means.
KBI imported Jerichos, back before they went bust, were based on Tanfoglio's slide safety design, the FAB92. Those were great if you prefer slide safety over frame safety, but today, there's really no reason to prefer a Jericho over a Tanfoglio except for Space Cowboy fetishism.
All of that said though, I believe the Jericho is a very good gun at a reasonable price - It's just think that the Tanfoglio/EAA Witness is that very same gun at an amazing price.
>>
>>34519575
>300 EAA Witness

Sure, if you';re looking for a polymer framed copy.
>>
>>34519575
Steel framed witness models are basically the same price as steel framed IWI Jerichos.

And a closeup of the same.

To continue with an autistically detailed explanation of the interrelation between the CZ-75, Tanfoglio, and Jericho:

Tanfoglio cloned the CZ-75 Pre-B (which of course did not have a firing pin block), and called it the TZ-75. They did this, of course, because back then the CZ-75 was made behind the Iron Curtain, and was difficult to get in the west, while Jeff Cooper was saying it was the best thing since sliced bread.
Tanfoglio took this design, and later added a Firing Pin Block to it of their own design independently from CZ (who actually made theirs several years after Tanfoglio)
This difference in firing pin blocks, by the way, is why Jerichos, Tanfoglios, and Kriss Sphinxes tend to have such great triggers out of the box, by the way - Even though CZs also come with good triggers, they're hindered by a really lousy firing pin block design that adds grit and weight to the pull moreso than Tanfo's design, so I personally really only care for Pre-Bs and Combat CZs
Tanfoglio then goes off and starts doing really crazy shit to the design, including the slide safety and large frame models chambered in shit like 10mm and 38 Super, then later licenses out their designs to everyone under the sun who wants to make a CZ clone, IMI included.

$314 for the Steel frame. Check slickguns, SKU 999111. Highly recommend it, though it is a bit of a basic bitch. I think Buds also ran a sale on them a while ago where you got a .22lr slide with it for just north of $400.
Poly frames are even cheaper, but I don't care for them.
>>
>>34519633
>slickguns, SKU 999111
Yeah, that SKU is the polymer framed model all right. No thanks, I already have a steel framed 75B and a steel framed IMI Jericho

Are you blind?

You won't experience much difference between it and a steel FS Jericho anyway, but christ, Anon, you literally can't figure it out when it's spoonfed to you.
>>
>>34519330
I was honestly going to pull the trigger on getting one of these, couldn't find one without the rail at LGS. Started going through all the 9mm pistols, ALL of them had the rail. Couldn't find one without it. Lost interest in getting a 9 after that even though I'd probably want to get one with it later on.

Where'd you find it? I can't seem to find a single one on the internet and gun shows have a few Jerichos usually but I've yet to see one like that.
>>
>>34522458
I got it from a seller on Gunbroker called Mach 1 Arsenal a few years back. A bunch of Israeli surplus came into the country back in 2014 or 2015, including various Jericho 941's. They seem to have dried up, but I do still see them pop up once in a blue moon. The other gunbroker sellers that had them were is CDI Sales and Free State Arms. Budsgunshop also had some here:

https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411556273/Used+Interarms+Surplus+Israeli+Jericho+941F+SADA+9mm+Fair

Maybe there are more sellers I don't know of. I guess all you can do is regularly check those sellers and keep your fingers crossed. Maybe more will come into the country.
>>
>>34519575
>same gun
they beat themselves to death and spare parts are impossible to find.
>>
>>34519238
Rails are very practical. They are also ugly as fuck and I will forever be fucking mad they ate the entire market and no pistol can be found without them.
>>
>>34522591
Which beat who to death and what spare parts are impossible to find?

I want a CZ clone, but I want the most part-interchangeability with a legit CZ.
>>
>>34522619
buy a rail cover that meets your aesthetic needs. Or take it to a smith to remove rail, and redo the finish.
>>
>>34522821
rail covers are stupid looking and don't fix the fact the lines are fucking ruined and I'm just mad you can't find a gun that looks nice without taking a welder to it.
>>
>>34522555
Found one of these, it's damn near perfect except for the barrel length
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/666794514
A lot of them seem to labeled under "baby eagle" so I guess I'll have to keep an eye on those too
>>34522821
>Or take it to a smith to remove rail
They can do that?
>>
>>34522864
Weld and blend. Expensive to do it right but you do wind up with a gun of any finish level you want, which you may as well if you are going to be spending the cash for a weld job anyway.
>>
>>34522591
Tanfos and Jerichos are both fine.
The manuals for both say no +P, but I have had no issues putting hundreds through both - it's lawyer-talk because of the partially unsupported chambers in both, the frames and slides themselves are built to take shit like .41AE and .38 Super
I do recommend using a heavier recoil spring if you intend to shoot +Ps, or if your gun has a couple thousand under its belt - the recoil spring could stand to be stronger from the factory.

Speaking of beating its self to death, by the way, Tanfo/IWI's two-piece forged slide stop is substantially stronger than CZ's cast one piece slide stop, and you'll rarely hear of them breaking.
Spare parts are available from EAA, Magnum Research, Numrich, and probably everyone else who imports Tanfo-based clones nowadays (Rock Island, Tristar, Canik, Kriss, etc)

>>34522635
Tristar is one of the few companies out there that makes clones of CZ-75s proper.

>>34522864
If you have enough money, they can do anything.
You're really better off finding one without a rail though.
>>
>>34519238
I got one with the rail not the worse thing. Just gotta get a surefire sooo.
>>
>>34519238

As someone with a railless...nah.
It ain't actually ugly, just different.
It's kinda like a Tanfoglio, but with a black finish and availability at brick and mortar stores.

It could definitely be priced better though, but then again it's Jewish.

>>
>>34522070

>>
>>34522864
Guy who suggested rail removal. Yes. Look at the gun for a while, visit a store if you dont own it. Imagine the lines it has. The rail is mostly a chunk of steel added to the frame. I mean its part of the frame, but the original frame measurements are usually still in there under the added rail material. Maybe they shaped it a bit differently on the sides, but you get someone who is good at it, have them mill off the rail, and follow the curves back to the trigger like on the original.

They will tell you if its a simple mill and finish job, or a weld and finish job.
>>34524055
This guy said it well. If you can find one w/o the rail, go for it. If you already own one with the rail, it will be cheaper to get the gun redone by someone who knows their shit.

Pro-tip: There are "gun smiths" and then there are guys who take metal and rework it like it is clay. The former deny the existence of the latter despite proof that is contrary, because the reality is they are bubba smiths who attended a school by video and have no real craftsmanship capability beyond filing, deburring, maybe bending sheet metal for made from scratch magazines, but precious few make new parts from billet scratch, and even fewer do arts like cut and weld.
