Can anyone give me some info on Uzi's? How easy are they to make from a parts kit? Are they pretty reliable? Would it be a good truck gun? Am I wasting my time piecing one together for .45 ACP?

There has to be a reason no one has made these kit guns since century... They couldn't sell them for $500 so stopped.

You are not....at all....approaching this correctly. But hey have a fun time. 45 acp shit for uzis reduces the round count to pathetic levels.
>>34513857
You can get custom or aftermarket mags for them, since the subgun guys use them for competition, but they are expensive as fuck unless you want a promag
shitposting aside, where can I find a full size uzi without getting jewed on the price?

And decent capacity is fuckhuge vs 9mm
>>34514885
Dont be a fag and just buy a model b or norinco
Does SBRing them consist of just swapping barrels
>>34515049
Yes. But the barrels literally screw in and out like a surpressor

Is there anything wrong with the Vector Uzis?

A Utah gun manufacturer, locked in a three-year legal battle with convicted felon Ralph Merrill, has filed for bankruptcy.
Vector Arms Corp.—the “source for the best AK47 and *UZI’s on the market”—faces big legal bills in a dispute over whether Mr. Merrill sold the company’s gun-making equipment and inventory to current owner and president Jason Maughn in 2011.
That sale came after Mr. Merrill lost his firearms manufacturing license in an illegal scheme to use China-made bullets to fill a $298 million ammunition order for Afghanistan Security Forces.
None of that ammunition could come from China, per the 2006 U.S. Army contract’s rules. When Mr. Merrill and others realized that an Albanian dealer was sending boxes of ammo it got from China in the 1960s and 1970s, Mr. Merrill instructed handlers by email on “how to remove Chinese markings from containers,” according to a federal indictment.
Mr. Merrill pleaded not guilty and unsuccessfully appealed his conviction. He has blamed his ex-lawyers and maintained his innocence in recent court papers.
Before heading to prison, Mr. Merrill owned 90% of a predecessor gun manufacturing company called Vector Arms Inc. Mr. Maughn, an employee, owned the last 10% and offered to buy the company’s equipment and open Vector Arms Corp. in the same manufacturing space.
Mr. Merrill sued Mr. Maughn in 2012, saying that he “engineered a takeover of Vector Arms Inc. while Merrill was in prison,” according to documents filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Salt Lake City.
“Vector, like most independent small arms manufacturers, has experienced a slowdown in its business over the last year,” said Mr. Maughn, who pointed out that Vector Arms made roughly $650,000 in sales last year compared to about $1.2 million in 2013.
Tl....dr... they were fine. Getting sketchy

a .45 uzi has poor reliablity.
If you're buying a parts kit keep in mind you need to buy a new semi auto bolt, semi auto barrel and sear as well as a receiver with a block.

>truck gun
anon if you use truck gun racks, just go and buy a cheap shotgun and pour beer on it and you are one step closer to being white trash
>>34515492
I was thinking more like putting it up under my rear seat for just shooting on the farm or for varmints. I figured .45 ACP would be fine. I wanted something with a short barrel just for even more fun.
>>34512976
jesus christ.
ok. i bought a fully-welded mckay enterprises receiver. parts kits are readily available at places like apex. i took mine to a gunsmith because theres a small block that needs to be welded into the trigger assembly, and the gun will need to be parkerized. is it possible to do on your own? probably. I think it cost me $300 to have built, parked and tested, but it was a long time ago, can't really remember.
