Post pictures of boats. Big boats, small boats, in boatween boats.
Also, if any of my files aren't named, I couldn't identify the boat. Please ID it for me if you can!

I always thought ticons were so cool
>>34509840
That's a pretty cute boat.

Literally what is the point of this. Just to carry around a 0.30 caliber machine gun?

heres a good bote
>>34513175
...What the fuck am I looking at? Is there a fucking submarine underneath it?
>no typhoon here
>only a cutter
>>34513113
this thread stopped being about boats from the first post on
>>34513264
>he doesnt know about hydroplanes
Literally just go to the wikipedia article
>>34513264
It's a hydrofoil. As a hydrofoil craft gains speed, the boat's hull is lifted out of the water, decreasing drag and allowing greater speeds.
>>34513311
Huh. Wonder why there's no destroyer or carrier version of that yet.
>>34513336
because of the absolutely absurd power requirements of getting a ship up to that speed.
>>34513365
Nuclear power isn't enough? Stick a few more A1Bs in there!
BoaoB
>>34513336
Imagine the stress on the struts at destroyer sizes, and the speed needed to lift something that heavy.
>>34513412
nuclear power isn't magic. also for reference a Nimitz class carrier is 20 times longer than a Sparviero patrol craft and has 1600 times the displacement. a carrier would have to be going a ridiculous speed with a massive hydrofoil just to get any lift
>>34513442
>>34513534
Sounds like a design flaw.

Is this the boat equivalent is a technical?
Why not?
>When you can't afford another proper carrier
>>34509772
I completely forgot about the Cyclone class. Seems like it'd be a neat ship to serve on. Do coastal patrol boats spend a lot of time at sea? How long can they be deployed?

That's more like it. This made my peepee twitch.
Professional sailor here
This thread makes my weewee stiff
I see a lot of ships in this boat thread.
>>34518650
Gotcha, only boats from here on out.

Cool story Ahab!
