I know, another reason why I want one. I just think they're cool and the price is only another plus. I think they'd make a great compact carry option. I carried a P30 for a while but the grip texture was too rough, and a light LEM P2000 would be a good size for carry and also have the same trigger as my current P30L so I could just stick with a familiar trigger

If it was LEM then it should still have a short reset, especially if you get trigger work done to it. Either way, I never understood the long trigger pull meme on here. You are going to stage your trigger at the breaking point anyway.

They make light and heavy DAO/LEM, the V2 LEM (heavy) is more common on the P2k but you can swap some springs and lighten it up.

>>
>>34507765
The Mark23 doesn't have a match trigger. Completely different trigger mechanism than the USP series. It's a bit heavier but still very good.

Experts, Elites, Match, and I think the tactical have them.

It's an expert but thanks! From the factory only the USP Match came with a tuning weight. Anything else is aftermarket. I've considered getting one. The German Merkell weights are hard to get in the US but a clone is currently being produced. Just kinda pricey.

I probably shoot retarded but short reset typically doesn't mean shit to me. I don't notice until the reset is over half the trigger pull tbqh. I also don't typically stage DA triggers, just straight pull. I've worked at it a lot. One of the older guys at my LGS convinced me that I need to be able to balance an empty casing on top of my 6" Dan Wesson while pulling in DA. Then my autism kicked in and every time I watched something on TV I was doing that the whole time. That's how I got gud. It's also better than a fidget spinner when you're sperging out hard in something.

Honestly it's not like anyone on /k has the common sense to practice with their defensive loads and even if he did run a mag or two through it every time he went to the range it wouldn't do any noticeable damage.
>>
>>34507817
Yeah, it's a dumb price though. God help me I held a compact and almost instabought it.

Yeah, the LEM never bothered me because it is so light and I learned pistol shooting in DA/SA. If you are used to revolver triggers I can't see why an HK trigger would bother you.
>>
>>34508088
I don't practice with my defense loads because I legit cant tell the difference. Even 140gr Lehigh defense feels the same out of my .40 as other loads. I run about a mag of my defense ammo just to make sure it works and cycles, but otherwise thats it.

P2000 will be more practical namely due to the rail and your mag options open up abit without much modding

Usp is a bit outdated in some areas and magazine/round options are a bit limited, but the aesthetics are iconic and you're buying more into history than practicality.

There's really nothing we can do for you, the early stages are much more about you than the hardware, it will take many rounds and experimenting with many guns to find what "fits" you best
>>
>>34515087
Since you're new, the only real things to go off are how they feel in your hand and specs/features.
If you like the paddle release, go for a VP9. If you want a hammer gun with paddle, check out the P30 or P2000.
If you don't feel like thinking, get the Glock.

>>
>>34515087
Is it for range or carry?

For range use get a p30s and just shoot it in single action, enjoy the fantastic ergos

For carry go p2000, USPc, or HK45c, the p30/ vp9 texture can be abrasive and catch on clothing when drawing from concealment.

H&K pistols are more durable, more reliable, and CAN have superior triggers. With HK go cocked and locked or light Lem, either are easier to shoot and less likely to ND than a Glock.

To add onto it, when I tested a usp45c I noticed that the grip was too thin and after a few shots the gun would shift inline to the bone of my thumb rather than the web of my hand (really painful). Does this happen with hk45c?

as for the roller delay hks, they are heavy. that's not up for argument. mp5s are heavy fucking guns in comparison to the competition they're also older than the competition by a lot, but no they aren't actually shit.

Not him, but I also carry a USP 45 full sized. I'm 6 feet, 165lbs, and it carries just fine. I carry it at the 6:00 position for comfort while driving/sitting. I've never had anyone notice it (or at least say anything), and I usually just wear a T shirt. I sometimes switch it up and carry it at 4 or 5 o'clock, and it doesn't print too bad. When you're carrying it against the small of your back, it won't print unless you bend over or something. I just use an Aliengear Cloak Tuck 3.0 IWB holster

the p30 video is new, but footage is old. I was really trying to be careful not to touch my slide release levers so thats what was up with the weird/weak/shifting handgun grip. that p30 had some weak ejection, which was the real reason the slide didnt lock back.

ive since shot a lot more handgat, my flinch is gone

I have both, and I love both. The USP40 is a better gun in my opinion, but fuddyfive is fun as shit. IMO they are the best fullsize guns in their respective calibers. The P30 might edge out the .40, but the HK45 is overrated if you have large palms.

My USP 45 was the gun that got me into and made me switch from glock to HK. So I will always have a soft spot for that.

That's called auto forwarding, some guns like HKs and M&Ps do it easy, others not such much, it's a perfectly fine practice

>>34519075
It's not a problem, it's a feature. Especially handy in competition where fast reloads matter.

paddle mag releases are better than button releases and anyone who says otherwise is just an idiot trying to hit it with their thumb instead of their firing finger

fuck you monkey boy -- give back that fucking gun you stole

>it was a display gun so very little use.
I doubt that. With these newer USPs, the laser-etched HK logo and the serial/date code information will start to turn brown and fade with use. It's basically holster wear, since the laser etching goes down into the steel below the finish, which starts to rust when exposed to moisture. The rust is brownish/dark in color, and indicates that the gun has been carried.

The owner has been in jail for like 6 months by now, so I don't think the company is going anywhere.

Had my friend completely write off HK because he holds semi autos with a curled thumb grip like a revolver and kept dropping the mag. Told him he's holding the gun wrong, but refused to fix his grip.

>>
>>34506829
USPs look amazing...it's maybe the best looking modern pistol imho.
>>
>>34526133
They were super fucking akward to me at first, everything seemed wrong or poorly designed/uneconomic. Now it's just part of my hand and slots accurate hits anywhere I point out to ~150yds
It's like a totally different gun, like when you see something out of the corner of your eye then actually look at it and it seems to physically change.
>>
>>34526085
is mine fucked? i load a dummy 9mm into the chamber and i can barely see the metal of the brass casing in bout 0.25 mm is this normal? kinda loose tolerance, no?

I've had success with using an industrial paint pen. Fill in the text you want, work out the air bubbles with something sharp, like a toothpick. Let it dry, then carefully wipe off the excess on the face of the slide with acetone or brake parts cleaner. Use a paper towel, spray the cleaner sparingly into the towel, not on the gun, and don't let the cleaner soak into the lettering.

I've shot my friends USP in .45 and really liked it. I definitely want one, but in 9mm.
>>
>>34527195
Also forgot to add, clean the old stuff out with the same acetone/brake cleaner and a brass brush.
>>
>>34527213
nice setup :)
does the APL light mount proper on the USP?
>>
>>34525881
The barrel was clean and other than oil crud, there wasnt much carbon soot in and around gun. The original box did have "demo" labelled on it and the gun came from a gun club, so I am guessing the etching probably rusted from sitting somewhere improper for a long while.

I grabbed an adapter from hkparts.net, probably not the best one available but it looks good and works.
>>
Is a threaded barrel worth $239 of my next paycheck?

I don't have a can or a can sticker but I think I might want one
>>
>>34527358
ok thx
I was hoping there would be a secret APL light that fits without an adapter :)

are there any lights other than the old utl ii thatll work on usp?
>>
>>34527434
"worth" can be context specific and relative or even abstract when viewed from the position of a 3rd party observer quantifying the gestalt of the choice in question.

basically nigga figure it out yourself

Streamlight makes some WML that are natively fitted for the USP proprietary rail, check their site.

I'm starting to see how you got conned into thinking that you got a good deal for that gun.

>>34527434
I'm trying to decide between a threaded barrel and comp or a match weight.
>>
>>34527920
>>34527920
>threaded barrel and comp

Don't. Even with tilting breech lock the comp will very quickly loosen up and rotate (like 2-3 shots in) - with a can this rotation has little impact, with a comp you are now directing the gasses an an undesirable obtuse angle.

If you get a threaded bbl only two things go on it - a thread protector or a can.

I would like a VP9 as a carry gun but after watching MAC's video I'm a little distraught. I would prefer features of the VP9 but it seems the glock is more loosely built and reliable.

I realize I'm never going to drop my VP9 into sandy water, but just incase I did I would want it to work.
