Hey k, my grandad passed away a year ago, and he left me with an old looking rifle, it's in a pretty bad state and I'm getting some money for a restoration but I wonder what model is it?
For what I know is 100+ years old but o have no idea.
One meter ruler for scale.

It's a Remington Rolling Block Saddle Ring Carbine. Hard to tell more than that from the lack of pics.

Same fag here.
Also, since you had a meter stick I would presume that you're a Europoor? Which country? There were a lot of European nations that used them for their military such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

He might also be Central/South American. They also used the Rolling Block profusely.

Uruguayan actually
Thanks anon, I appreciate your help!

if you mean professionally restored, it won't be worth anywhere near the money you put into it and it'll probably never be safe to shoot. i'd clean the metal with some oil and bronze wool and the wood with some wood soap then hang it over the fireplace.
'nother pic

Jesus man, did he leave bury it in the backyard or something?
You're not going to be shooting that ever.

since you guys here I'll actually ask
how's gun ownership in there?
I'm an argie and I'm just curious
if you allow guns as well as pot, I'd seriously think about moving there if things here remain so shitty
In the off chance the internals and bore were saved by lots of grease it could potentially be shootable but it will never look good, there was a guy that pulled a rusted up old 1911 out of a lake, estimated to have been there like 70 years, and eventually fired it after replacing the barrel and springs

Uruguay did purchase 5,000 rifles and an unknown number of carbines (supposedly more than than the rifles in number) around 1900 all in 7mm Mauser. Looks like yours is one of the carbines. A shame it's kinda toast.

Our gun laws are shit, now no one can't own anything in semiauto over .22, and you also need to go the the scientific police and let them shoot your gun so they can trace it if you kill someone. Don't come in here, we are not full but this place is a shithole and that ian't changin soon
Are you going to try to do any of the restoration work yourself?
I don't think its totally toast yet, you might be able to make it presentable
