The original price of the rifle is completely unwarranted. For $800-$900 that you can pick it up for when looking around it's a great gun, but for $1700 or whatever was asked of it you might as well get something that isn't a meme gun. It's kinda like the AR-180 where if you get it for the original intended price it's great, but if you pay the retarded overblown price you might as well buy a single round and use it to blow your brains out.

Have shot this particular rifle on a few occasions, I'd consider it a good choice if you want a modern rifle but don't want an AR, wouldn't have any issue taking one over the other.

The lack of aftermarket options is what kills the ARX for me, after shooting ARs with Larue and Geisele triggers I'm just not willing to go back to a 6+ lb trigger, howvever on the ARX we're probably talking an 8 pound trigger.

If you're considering an ACR, this is probably the better rifle.

So if you read the article I expand a bit on it, but basically underneath that rail is a proprietary grenade launcher rail. The pic rail is just a cover than can be taken off (and honestly I keep it off bcause the gun is much thinner and easier to grip with it off).

The problem is Beretta doesn't make a cover for the crosspin hole at the rear of the GL rail and it's a little sketchy to leave it exposed.

As for the magazine well, that will never get less bulky because that's where the lower receiver interfaces with the upper receiver.

my friend got a bren 805. its well made, fit and fisnih are nice. a little hefty but the weight is distributed well along the receiver. stock feels a little flimsy to me. having to use the bolt handle as the bolt release is just ok, you get used to it. i would prefer a separate bho lever like the bren 2 will have, but definitely not a deal breaker, just a small quirk i guess.
people have reported the HG getting hot bc its directly touching the barrel, but i didnt think that was an issue. then again, its not like i was mag dumping it either.
all in all, a very solid rifle. out of the box, i think the bren 805 has the upper hand over the scar 16 just bc of the price difference. if you like to modify, then the scar would be the way to go.
as far as other options, dont go with the acr. the beretta is ugly to me so i wouldnt even consider it, unless it was cheap as fuck.
the bren 2 seems like a winner, ill probably get one of those whenever it comes out
