Got this bad boi for like $60
>>34492918
Where at?
>>34492929
Ebay, outfittercountry is the name of the seller. Those niggas sell CS knives for a bargain. But be quick about it,they go out of stock in like a week or so.
>>34492918
Also a Cold Steel(s)
>>34492958
>eBay
I'd worry about counterfeits if I were you unless you can find a reputable seller who sells at a discount.
>>34493295
Yeah, true there are tons of counterfeits. But i gotta admit, all the stuff i got from them was legit and half the price.Idk how they profit
>>34493286
Is the Espada the big brother of the clip Voyager XL?
>>34493357
The COLD STEEL ESPADA XL is the king of all knives.
I know this thing is really cheesy and not very practical, but I want one.
>>34493357
No the Voyager and Espada are different lines. The Large Espada is the same size of the XL Voyager
>>34494955
I also like the ROC for no particular reason. I like odd ball Spydercos, like my Junior and Tuff
>>34493339
>legit
How can you tell?
>>34492958
Bought my frenzy from them on amazon.
>>34492918
>>34494738
The XL is my guilty pleasure. Still want one so bad.I also really want to get another Emerson Karambit if they would ever make on in a better steel than 154CM.
>my folders
>>34496404
Pretty good dude,i had a rawles voyager, the tanto one and i can't give it enough praise. Just cash out on an XL.You might go hungry, but you ain't gonna regret it kek
>>34495895
Aw fuck, thats a really nice knoif. Is the frenzy strong enough for some bushcraft work or purerly a self defence meme?
>>34495715
The lockup, the steel, the coating,it all paints a picture. You gotta be careful on eBay tho, those fuckin gooks make them believeable on picture
>>34495114
Yeah,i know, but they are very similiar in alot of ways.Although, the Espada fuckin DWARFS the VoyagerXL. Both good knives, but i kinda perfer the Voyager because its my EDC
>>34496596
You can do it. It's not going to excel at anything but self defense but you can sure as hell try. Pretty much anything with a triad lock can be used for battoning.
>>34496577
I'm seeing it for $549 on Amazon, for the one I want. Fuck. Don't want it that bad.
The thing is I already got my knife budget going towards a few of the new Spydercos, whenever they will finally come out. I thought they were supposed to back in June.
>the Spyderco Hanan I want
>>34496635
Large espada =/=xl espada
>>34496840
I've been waiting for the Rhino for over a year. Stopped checking for releases because they're taking for fucking ever. Not even the Caly 3 sprint run is out.
>>34494955
I like the blade shape of the ROC but it's hard to justify $150 on VG-10 and G10.
>>34497061
They had to delay the Rhino because the first run didn't meet their quality standards.
"After careful consideration, we have decided to move production of the Reinhold Rhino to Taichung. We have also decided to upgrade the Rhino to ensure that we deliver the best possible knife and give you something that is not only functionally sound but something that will prove to be worth the wait.
Upgrades will include:
CTS-XHP steel
Peel-ply carbon fiber / G-10 laminate handle
Phosphor bronze washers"

>Benchmade 551 Griptilian
>3.45" 154CM
>$92 new
Should I get this for EDC? If not what should I get instead?
>>34499174
A Spyderco endura 4 for example. Loved by everyone.
Benchmade is overpriced.
Also look at the chinese market.
Real steel, Kizer and the likes, better materials for less money.
Just got this machete and cleared out my whole yard of the eternal air potato vines, pretty fucking nice.
>>34499174
Yes.
>>34499246
>A Spyderco endura 4 for example. Loved by everyone.
SpyderCo is shit. Their grips are useless with gloves on and the round hole sucks.
>>34499246
>Spyderco isn't overpriced.
Anyone have experience with Piranha knives? I really like the look of a few of their models like the Bodyguard and P-1 Pocket. I know their pivot-less design causes some side to side play but that isn't a super big deal to me unless it's really bad. Are they decent or should I stick with Protech?
>>34499174
Eh. 154CM isn't bad. Not great either. For 92 bucks you can't do much better.
>>34499246
Spyderco is the Glock of folders.
>>34499680
Wrong, the hole is patrician. You'd know how easy it is to open with gloves if you ever actually used them.
>>34501124
>Spyderco is the Glock of folders.
This works on so many levels.
>>34501442
The hole is moronic but I only said their meme grip pattern was useless with gloves on. A simple stud just works better anyways.
>>34498546
Fuck them. Taking it from a $40 knife to fucking over $100.
>>34499246
Endura 4 is an ugly fucking lump of lard.
>>34503010
They couldn't make it good for only $40, so they didn't really have a choice.
>>34503651
They really fucked the dog on this one. Nice little affordable compression lock turns into another overpriced piece of fuckery. That really grinds my gears.
>>34499385
Tramontina is a find machete. Great for clearing brier bushes around the river.
Good cheap machete that is used all over South America by people who use machetes daily, good enough for weekend bushwhacking
Back from the dead.
>>34500176
IS THAT COMIC SANS?!
>>34508640
Reminds me of the tacky font Coldsteel use to use.
>>34492918
I bought a 60$ Sykes-Fairbrain repro with a proper-ish sheat for shits an giggles, probably a PoS, but I rather enjoy simply having one till I can save up enough to buy an original. (Never Never)
>>34493339
Balisong nerd here, there are Chinese clones that take high-end American made knives that cost 400+ bucks and make identical copies out of the same material (titanium, G10, various steels for blade, etc). They don't have to come up with the design at all since they can just buy one fancy knife and replicate it, and thus they save massively on cost even though they have to pay for the materials. The above $400+ balisong? I have a Chinese version that cost 80 bucks. I'm told if you look at both side by side you notice a slight difference in some screw head sizes, but that's basically it. I assume the chinks do this with other knives.
tl;dr: copying designs means saving on R&D and branding costs so half-price clone is just materials+child labor.
>>34508640
>>34509135
The only knife it's not on is the P-1 Pocket which has a mirror polished blade.
I like it, but it chips too easily.
Found this knife in an abandoned building. Research tells me it's a Muela Storm but can anyone tell if it's legit?
>>34494955
How is it not practical? You can use it to prepare food while camping. Do you not use your knives to prepare food with?
>>34512668
>>34512690
How the fuck can i convince my parents, who dont trust me with a butter knive, to buy me a throwing knive for my birthday?
>>34512717
>>34509237
^this
I've got a hq bm42 copy with titanuim handles and a good spring latch.
>>34512716
Can't you just order one online?
>>34512716
Get a job or suck dick for money and buy them yourself.
>>34499385
I have that same one. The only trouble I have is the steel is so hard it's hard for me to sharpen. Tough machete though. Any tips on sharpening it? Just keep trying?
>>34499680
>>34501124
>>34503021
It's fine you hipsters
>>34500145
Can't say no to that, the classics have a good tag on them though
>>34512741
I don't have a bank account.
>>34512885
You think the spyderco endurance is a good knife! Sad! Have you ever held one?
>>34512936
Ask 'em for the dosh and get a prepaid MasterCard then buy that shit on your own accord.
>>34501556
How can a hole be moranic? it's a hole. A hole on a blade doesn't get snagged in your pocket like the studs do. A hole on the spyderco knives is possibly the best idea to deploy the blade gloved handed or not. You can't miss it or slip, it's a simple utilitarian design.
>>34512936
Amazon sells gift cards. Also amazon has thousands of throwing knives ranging from $5 to $199
You all need to learn a lesson about true knife quality.
>>34513931
Now THAT is a knife. What's it called and where do I get one?
>>34513953
After hours of searching I finally found it. Sebenza 21. Just placed an order for one.
>>34512954
>spyderco endurance

>>34512680
>>34512668
I got the wharncliffe version.
Love mine.
It was a lot smaller than i thought it would be but it's still plenty useful.
>>34512855
I've heard belt sanders are they best, other than that maybe the smith's axe and machete sharpener.
>>34516628

>Still using phone like a good goy
>Not knowing who Richard Stallman is
You are new here
>>34517367
Stallman is a fuckin goofball, go back to /g/ and clean your keyboard
>>34512668
>>34512703
nice bracelet
I've never had any real "quality" knife sharpeners before, is the fallkniven dc4 any good? All i really have are standard stones that come with kitchen knives and stuff. Or should i just get a sharmaker and stick with that?
>>34517147
The Kalanishikov comes in 2 sizes snd bunch of colors. I gave mine (the one in the pic) to my brother cuz I'm gonna get the larger size.
>>34517907
Have both the fallkniven DC4 and CC4 stones.
Fallkniven DC4 is a decent field sharpening stone, but I prefer the fallkniven CC4 over it. CC4 has a fine ceramic (white) instead of a diamond stone, which lets you get a finer edge at the end. Additionally, the coarse ceramic (grey) side that's on both the DC4 and CC4 is good enough to get small damage out of the edge in my experience, so the diamond stone on the DC4 is less useful.
With that said I wouldn't want to only have a CC4 as my main sharpening system. It to me is strictly a field sharpener and for experimenting with edge finish when I'm bored.
>>34492918
Posting muh work knives cuz why not
>>34518653
>>34518664
>>34501124
>Spyderco is the Glock of folders.
In terms of community yes, but in designs..
Spyderco is very imaginative while Glock is literally small Glock/big Glock
did it with me knoife
>>34518651
So would the sharpmaker be better? It seems like the best entry level sharpener from what I've looked at.
>>34516628
>The point
>Your head
Phoneposters, everyone.
>>34512716
Git really good at sharpening normal knives and tell them caReful not to cut themselves on the kitchen knives, they're sharp.
Tell em multiple times though, because it still happens
hey guys
>>34520242
No experience with the spyderco sharpmaker, but I've heard it's nice for quick touch ups and applying a quick microbevel, but it sounds like hell to take out any damage to the edge. I'd recommend putting in the time to get decent with stones and free hand sharpening. It's the cheapest, most time
efficient and most versatile method of sharpening. I freehand sharpen on stones because of this.
There's some good videos of sharpening on YouTube by cliff stamp in his sharpening playlist.
