Well I take my shotgun out on wet/raining days. Also leave that one in the garage next to a door that doesn't always get closed.

I think it was an alright test. Shows what actually stays on the metal in wet conditions.

It's good for cleaning black powder and corrosive ammo with 50/50 water and that's about it.

Ballistol isn't CLP, it's not meant to protect surfaces in wet conditions

it's an excellent cleaner and good lasting lubricant that stays where sprayed and doesn't disappear after a few shots like some others

It doesn't do a particularly good job of cleaning or lubing imho.

I find that it's adequate for the job but very weak. I keep it around it simply because it won't take the finish off of my pre-armistice MAS 36 like Hoppes would.

Every few months I plug up the barrel of my pistol with rolled up patches and fill it with ballistol. Then I place the barrel assembly into a ziploc bag, saturate it with ballistol, close it, and leave it there for a few days. When I take it out, wipe it down, and run several patches through, it's clean like new.
