gorka 4 is what in the picture, no button on top (except) for few on the top, black nylon/sometimes pp reinforcement. Gorka 2 is essentially the same with all dirt yellow color(just like m81) and a smaller top pocket

Is gorka 2 even a thing? Gorka 1 was the original soviet design, Gorka 3/S/C was designed in the early 2000s by SPOSN. Gorka 4/R came shortly after. Maybe ANA still calls their modern gorka a 2?

That's the problem OP. There are dozens of manufacturers for this suit, they all call it different names.

Because these things are not waterproof. Would It be worth my time to waterproof spray one?

You're supposed to melt wax into the cotton parts with a hot iron. That's how they waterproofed shit before goretex.

there's quite a few models of gorka out there. gorka 2 and 4 are both anorak models with the big pocket up front. Bars and ANA both have gorka 4 models.

the best gorkas are sso by far. they also have camo options.

Bars is the classic gorka. it's cheaper by like $20 but not as nice

ANA is this weird mix of repro gear and their own stuff. I have their DC4-paratrooper gorka. It's drastically different form other gorkas, being more softshell than straight canvas. much lighter, and the jacket looks like a british smock more so than a real gorka.
