Home depot does not sell anything larger than 1/2 inch which is 12.7 mm. You will not find it at home depot. I recommend converting to inches (38mm = 1.496 inches) and trying to find a 1.5 inch bar somewhere online. What type of steel is it? What are you using it for?
1.5" dia is 0.004" over.

Can you turn it down? May be hard to find specific metric sizes outside of just the common ones.

Took me 15 secs, with the problem that I'm searching from the UK, so I got a lot of local stockists.

4 thou is not gonna be hard to knock off with some sandpaper if you don't have any machine tools, it won't be precision but it should work. How tight is the tolerance? What is the part for?

Buy one off ebay you fucking idiot

Not OP - I was just converting for his dumb, lazy ass
how do you make baffles and mount them inside
>>34481266
so you just thread the inside of the steel tube and use threaded caps to keep the baffles in? you could easily make a suppressor only part is machining baffles and threading.

why even ask
Get on McMaster Carr's website and look at the round stock or shafts.
If they don't have it, google it.
>>34481160
>what is a lathe?
>highlight 38mm diameter round steel bar in sentence
>right click search google for
are you using fucking ask geeves or something? I got milions of hits.

It feels good being the manager at a scrap metal yard. I've never had to buy steel in my life..
DIY projects only cost my time and consumables. Provided I can't take those from work as well.

Sure you get free steel but I doubt you get free machine tools.
